Production Supervisor

Location: Montagu, Western Cape Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time Reports To: Production Manager Salary: R15,000 – R20,000 per month CTC

Job Overview

Our client, a well-established food manufacturing business within the FMCG industry, is looking for a hands-on and motivated Production Supervisor to join their team in Montagu.

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily production operations, ensuring that production targets are achieved efficiently while maintaining quality, food safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Clearly define daily staff duties and responsibilities.
• Rotate employees to support multitasking and operational flexibility.
• Monitor staff timekeeping and ensure assigned tasks are completed effectively.
• Monitor production equipment and ensure equipment is maintained according to work instructions.
• Report faulty measuring devices and manage the issuing of equipment to staff.
• Monitor production processes and ensure processing parameters meet specifications.
• Report production non-conformances and enforce SOPs.
• Drive production efficiency and effective use of resources.
• Monitor hygiene standards and ensure cleaning requirements are maintained.
• Ensure cleaning validation documentation is completed correctly.
• Monitor storage practices, including allergen control.
• Identify and address deviations from required standards.
• Conduct random pre-batch inspections of raw materials, weights and traceability information.
• Manage allergen spillages and ensure appropriate handling, identification and storage of allergen-related equipment.
• Lead daily operational meetings and communicate key information to production staff.
• Participate in factory trials and relevant pre- and post-trial meetings.
• Support projects and ad hoc initiatives assigned by the Production Manager.
• Assist with stock-taking activities.
• Ensure all production documentation is completed accurately and on time.
• Promote compliance with company policies, procedures, quality standards and food safety requirements.

Compensation

R15,000 – R20,000 per month CTC, depending on experience and suitability.

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Ability to physically stand, walk, crouch, kneel and lift up to 25kg, as well as work at heights where required.
