Lead Evening Operations for a UK Food Manufacturing Leader

We’re now looking for an enthusiastic and driven Production Team Leader to lead our backshift operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a passion for food manufacturing to play a key role in keeping our high‑volume production lines running safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and motivate a team of production operatives during the backshift
  • Support team training, coaching and skills development
  • Create a positive, collaborative and high‑performing team culture

Production & Performance Management

  • Oversee production operations to ensure all targets are achieved
  • Maintain workflow efficiency, making adjustments where necessary
  • Ensure product quality meets company and customer expectations

Safety, Hygiene & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety standards
  • Support quality control processes and escalate any issues promptly
  • Maintain a clean, safe and well‑organised work environment

Problem‑Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Respond to operational challenges and find effective solutions
  • Use production metrics and shift performance data to recommend improvements
  • Work closely with management to drive best practice and efficiency

Communication & Coordination

  • Act as the link between production staff and management
  • Keep clear, open communication across the shift team
  • Support smooth handovers between shifts

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be a strong candidate if you have:

  • Experience as a Production Team Leader, Line Leader, Shift Leader, or similar manufacturing leadership role
  • Strong people‑management and communication skills
  • Good understanding of production processes (food manufacturing experience preferred)
  • Ability to problem‑solve and make sound decisions under pressure
  • A proactive, organised and hands‑on approach
  • Willingness to work regular backshift hours
