We are present in the places where they face the greatest challenges, such as poverty, violence, chronic malnutrition, and limited access to water, sanitation, and hygiene services.

How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision and guidance of the supervisor, the Associate supports planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, partnership processes and administrative and financial follow-up for child protection activities. The incumbent compiles and analyses information, tracks budgets and partner commitments, organizes field and coordination activities, and flags implementation and protection risks for action by the responsible officer. Work is carried out under UNICEF procedures and approved technical guidance, including humanitarian standards, safeguarding, PSEA, data protection, gender equality, disability inclusion and accountability to affected populations. Support safe participation and feedback from families, adolescents and communities through approved methods; document emerging concerns and communicate them to responsible technical staff.

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

• Education: A completed secondary education is required.

• Work Experience: A minimum of six (6) years of relevant administrative or programme support experience is required.

• Skills: Experience in Inter-agency Coordination. Capacity to contribute to programme planning. Proficiency in Donor Reporting. Expertise in Data management.

• Language Requirements: Proficient Spanish and Intermediate English are required.

Desirables:

• Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French or Russian) is desirable.

• A completed first level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in social sciences, social work, law, human rights, humanitarian action, public administration or a related field is highly desirable.

• Experience in planning, budgeting, reporting, partnership follow-up or field implementation is an advantage.

• Experience supporting child protection, humanitarian response, inter-agency coordination or community-based violence prevention is highly desirable.

• Working UNICEF or UN experience is an asset.

• Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is desirable.
