FAO is recruiting a P-3 Programme Officer at headquarters in Rome to support the Office of the Deputy Director-General on strategic initiatives, programme coordination, policy support, monitoring, events and collaboration across FAO offices and external partners. The appointment is fixed-term for one year with possible extension.
Full job description
The Programme Officer will help develop, implement, monitor and evaluate programmes and projects; support policy analysis; coordinate funding and budget-related activities; prepare reports and presentations; and help manage special initiatives led by the Deputy Director-General. The role also contributes to the FAO Villages Recognition Initiative, the Global Working Conference of FAO Representatives and strategic coordination of decentralized offices.
Requirements & qualifications
FAO requires an advanced university degree in public administration, social science, political science, international development, international relations, environmental or agricultural studies, or another relevant discipline; five years of relevant experience in international development cooperation, programme/project management, administration or related work; proficiency in English; and intermediate knowledge of another official FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).
