Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Public Sector Account Executive based in United States. The Public Sector Account Executive will own the full public-sector revenue cycle, from initial inquiry and prospecting through RFPs, contracting, renewals, and expansion. You will serve as a primary commercial voice for government and public health organizations, helping prospects understand the value and capabilities of a communication platform. The role combines consultative selling, product education, technical writing, proposal development, and relationship management. You will work directly with public-sector prospects through long government buying cycles, competitive bids, procurement processes, and contract negotiations. The position also requires close collaboration with Implementation, Finance, Product, Marketing, Customer Success, and Contract & Billing teams. This is a highly autonomous, entrepreneurial opportunity with significant visibility and ownership over the public-sector go-to-market motion. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating independently, navigating complex government requirements, and taking deals from first conversation through renewal.

Own the end-to-end public-sector sales process, including inbound qualification, targeted outbound outreach, product demonstrations, quoting, negotiation, contracting, renewal, and expansion. Assess prospective clients' technical use cases, integration requirements, expected platform volume, and overall fit. Lead tailored virtual product demonstrations for WIC agencies and other public-sector prospects, clearly connecting platform capabilities to their operational needs. Design and execute strategic email outreach campaigns to nurture prospects, generate outbound pipeline, and maintain engagement throughout lengthy government purchasing cycles. Educate prospects on platform capabilities, plan limitations, and available options; prepare accurate initial quotes and negotiate optional features based on client requirements. Lead RFP and RFR responses, including researching technical requirements, writing proposal narratives, addressing capability questions, and preparing complete bid submissions. Finalize commercial scopes of work and coordinate agreements through the signature process. Support successful handoffs to Implementation by collecting required documentation such as purchase orders and Letters of Authorization and creating onboarding tickets. Partner with Finance when payment issues arise, leveraging client relationships to help resolve stalled accounts. Monitor contract expiration dates and platform usage data to proactively manage renewals, present updated volume tiers, and identify expansion or upsell opportunities. Build strong working relationships across Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Implementation, Finance, and Contract & Billing Operations. Requirements: 2–5+ years of B2B sales or account management experience selling to government or enterprise clients. Demonstrated experience owning a full sales cycle independently, from initial contact through signature and renewal without dedicated SDR or sales engineering support. Proven ability to build relationships and win competitive bids, including independently writing technical and narrative sections of RFP responses. Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to explain integration requirements to procurement stakeholders while clearly communicating the commercial value of a solution. Experience with CRM platforms, e-signature tools, and virtual meeting platforms, with the ability to confidently present to public-sector audiences. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate the unique requirements, processes, and challenges associated with government contracts. Strong understanding of government procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements is preferred. Direct experience with WIC programs is a plus. Experience running outbound sales cadences through platforms such as Zoho Campaigns, Outreach, Apollo, or similar tools is preferred. Experience with Zoho CRM and Zoho Books is an asset. Familiarity with cooperative purchasing vehicles, sole-source justifications, or state term contracts is a plus. Highly self-directed, detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable taking ownership in an entrepreneurial environment. Benefits: Full ownership of the public-sector revenue motion rather than responsibility for only a portion of a larger sales territory. Fully remote work environment with high visibility and significant autonomy. Entrepreneurial environment with the opportunity to build and shape a public-sector go-to-market function. Exposure to a broader portfolio company network and operating model. Direct collaboration with executive leadership and cross-functional teams. Opportunity to build expertise in government procurement, public-sector sales, RFPs, and enterprise account management.
