Vast is rapidly developing its multi-module Haven Station to ensure a continuous human presence in space for America and its allies, enabling advanced microgravity research and manufacturing, and unlocking a new space economy for government, corporate, and private customers. Haven Demo’s 2025 success made Vast the only operational commercial space station company to fly and operate its own spacecraft. Next, Haven-1 is expected to become the world’s first commercial space station when it launches in 2027, followed by additional Haven modules. Additionally, the company recently announced Vast Satellite, a high-power satellite product line leveraging its space station components and the heritage of Haven Demo.

Headquartered in Long Beach, California, and with more than 1,000 employees and over a billion dollars in private capital, Vast has built the facilities required to manufacture and operate America’s next space station. The company plans to develop future habitats and systems for the Moon and Mars, dedicated space stations for government partners, and other crewed systems that will unlock the expanding long-term space economy.

Vast is looking for a Receiving Coordinator reporting to the Logistics Manager, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of human-rated space stations. This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily receiving activities for aerospace parts, raw materials, assemblies, tooling, equipment, and general supplies..

  • Perform receiving transactions within the company's ERP/MRP system and ensure records are accurate and complete.

  • Generate and apply barcode, identification, and inventory labels as required.

  • Review incoming documentation for required certifications, test reports, material certifications, certificates of conformance, traceability documentation, and other purchase order requirements.

  • Route material requiring inspection to Receiving Inspection/Quality and ensure material is properly identified and controlled while awaiting inspection.

  • Identify and document receiving discrepancies and communicate material shortages, receiving delays, discrepancies, and other issues that could affect production schedules.

  • Ensure material identification, lot/serial control, shelf-life information, and traceability requirements are maintained throughout the receiving process.

  • Support the receipt and control of customer- or government-owned property when applicable.

  • Maintain organized receiving, staging, quarantine, and inspection-hold areas.

  • Coordinate priority receipts and expedite critical material when required to support manufacturing.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to receiving accuracy, cycle time, material flow, documentation, and ERP processes.

  • Follow company procedures for ESD, FOD prevention, hazardous materials, material handling, and workplace safety.

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other material-handling equipment as required and when properly trained/certified.

  • Assist with shipping, inventory, logistics, and warehouse activities as operational needs require.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 2+ years of experience in receiving, warehouse operations, inventory control, logistics, supply chain, or a related manufacturing environment.

  • Experience receiving materials against purchase orders and packing documentation.

  • Experience using an ERP/MRP or warehouse management system.

  • Ability to identify and resolve receiving and documentation discrepancies.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Procurement, Quality, Inventory, Logistics, and Production teams.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to transactional accuracy.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple receipts and changing production requirements.

  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials consistent with company safety requirements.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of receiving or material-control experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, medical device, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working within an AS9100-certified aerospace organization.

  • Familiarity with aerospace documentation including Certificates of Conformance (CoC), material certifications, test reports, and traceability records.

  • Experience supporting Receiving Inspection, Quality, NCR, MRB, or supplier discrepancy processes.

  • Knowledge of lot, batch, heat, and serial-number traceability requirements.

  • Experience handling shelf-life-controlled and environmentally sensitive materials.

  • Familiarity with FOD prevention and ESD controls.

  • Experience with customer- or government-owned property and familiarity with FAR Part 45.

  • Forklift or powered industrial truck certification.

  • Experience supporting a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing or production environment

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time

  • Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones

  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted

  • Specific certifications, as appropriate

Pay Range: California

$25—$35 USD
