Regional Health, Safety, & Environmental Specialist

Our partner is looking for a Regional Health, Safety, & Environmental Specialist based in the United States. As a Regional HSE Specialist, you will help protect employees, customers, and operations across North America by strengthening health, safety, and environmental practices. You will combine hands-on field engagement with strategic safety leadership across a diverse operational environment. The role involves identifying hazards, investigating incidents, and driving corrective actions that create lasting improvements. You will partner with operational leaders, field teams, customers, and stakeholders to embed safety into everyday decision-making. As a regional subject matter expert, you will deliver training, influence safety culture, and translate broader HSE standards into practical initiatives. The position supports approximately 400 employees and offers significant visibility and opportunities to influence regional performance. Up to 50% travel is expected, providing direct exposure to operational sites and customer environments across North America.

Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of regional health, safety, and environmental programs across assigned operations and geographic areas. Translate HSE standards, requirements, and objectives into practical initiatives that support operational priorities and improve safety performance. Guide behavior-based safety programs, risk assessments, non-routine task evaluations, and the development and application of HSE policies and procedures. Conduct incident and accident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and establish corrective and preventive action plans. Coordinate workers' compensation cases in accordance with applicable policies and regulatory requirements. Identify, develop, and communicate HSE best practices and promote consistent implementation across field operations. Deliver training, coaching, and guidance to strengthen HSE awareness, accountability, and leadership at all organizational levels. Develop and maintain site-specific safety plans that align with organizational standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. Work with operational leaders, field employees, customers, and other stakeholders to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective mitigation measures. Monitor, analyze, and communicate HSE performance metrics and use findings to identify continuous improvement opportunities. Serve as a regional HSE subject matter expert and contribute to safety culture transformation initiatives. Complete required HSE administration, documentation, reporting, and other departmental responsibilities. Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, ethical conduct, and a practical, collaborative, innovative approach to problem-solving. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and HSE experience. 5+ years of Health, Safety, and Environmental experience preferred. Experience in industrial services, manufacturing, construction, mining, metals, heavy industry, or similar operational environments preferred. Experience conducting incident investigations, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions. Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHST, OSHA credentials, or similar qualifications are preferred. Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, build relationships, and promote positive safety culture across multiple organizational levels. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver training and communicate technical information clearly. Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong leadership capabilities and a results-oriented approach to continuous improvement. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and standard business technology. Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor operational environments and tolerate conditions that may include elevated or low temperatures, noise, dust, and concrete work surfaces. Ability to sit, stand, walk, hear, and see regularly; use a computer; and lift or carry up to 30 pounds. Ability to climb stairs and occasionally bend, reach, push, and pull. Willingness and ability to travel regularly to operational sites, customer locations, meetings, and training events, with travel of up to 50%.
