The role combines strategic sales leadership with hands-on technical support, customer engagement, and influence across complex construction projects. You’ll work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, distributors, and other decision-makers to increase product specifications and secure project opportunities. Success will require strong commercial judgment, technical understanding, and the ability to develop a high-performing sales organization. With approximately 30% travel, this role offers a strong field presence while remaining remote-based.

Drive year-over-year revenue growth and meet or exceed sales budgets across assigned territories and product lines. Build, coach, and lead a high-performing sales organization comprising direct employees and independent manufacturer representatives. Set clear goals, establish accountability, monitor performance, and develop team members through coaching and performance plans. Provide technical guidance to sales professionals and customers by assessing project conditions and recommending appropriate architectural products. Support product specifications, submittals, and project requirements for solutions such as expansion joint systems, stair nosings, entrance systems, and photoluminescent egress products. Develop competitive sales strategies and targeted initiatives to increase specification rates and market share among architects, contractors, distributors, and other stakeholders. Maintain strong knowledge of competitors, pricing, products, and market dynamics to identify and win specification and project opportunities. Track sales performance, market trends, and competitive activity using CRM and reporting tools, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting. Deliver compelling sales and technical presentations to architects, contractors, trade organizations, and other industry stakeholders. Lead and support complex, multi-party negotiations to secure profitable and strategically valuable opportunities. Strengthen relationships with existing customers and develop new relationships across the full territory. Partner with Customer Service, Technical Services, and internal leadership to ensure strong execution and customer satisfaction. Travel approximately 30% to meet customers and prospects, support sales team members, and attend trade shows and industry events. Follow applicable safety requirements, including OSHA 10 standards and required PPE during construction-site visits. Requirements: 5+ years of progressive sales experience, including at least 2 years in a sales leadership role. Demonstrated success building and leading sales teams that consistently meet or exceed ambitious growth targets in competitive markets. Hands-on experience with expansion joint systems, stair nosings, photoluminescent egress products, or similar specialty architectural products is strongly preferred. Strong executive presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Highly relationship-oriented, with the ability to influence multiple stakeholders and decision-makers throughout complex sales cycles. Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong customer-first approach. Skilled negotiator who is comfortable managing complex, multi-party sales scenarios. Confident presenter with the ability to deliver effective sales and technical presentations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as CRM and order management systems such as Salesforce. Strong organizational skills with the ability to complete work accurately and on time. Ability to collaborate effectively across teams while also working independently when required. Proven ability to lead teams through clear direction, performance measurement, constructive feedback, and development. High school diploma required; a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred. Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record required for this driving position; motor vehicle record and proof of insurance are part of the pre-employment process. Successful completion of a background check and drug screen is required. Benefits: Competitive total rewards package. Annual performance bonus program. Sales bonus eligibility based on applicable performance criteria. 401(k) with a $1-for-$1 company match on contributions, up to 6%. Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Flexible spending account and health savings account. Paid time off and parental leave. Employee assistance program. Tuition reimbursement.
