The Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool provides high-quality patient care across multiple units within a hospital setting. This full-time, day-shift role supports staffing needs across multiple departments while ensuring safe, consistent, and patient-centered care. The ideal candidate is adaptable, clinically strong, and experienced in high-acuity environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care across assigned hospital units based on operational needs
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders
- Monitor patient condition and respond promptly to changes in status
- Float to Emergency Department and other critical care areas as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary hospital teams
- Educate patients and families on care plans, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Follow all hospital safety, quality, and infection control standards
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Prior Critical Care (Emergency Department) experience required
- BLS required
- Strong clinical judgment, flexibility, and critical-thinking skills
