Client: Construction Estimator Location: Remote Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week Time Zone: Eastern Time (ET) Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST Compensation: $1,500–$2,500 USD/month, depending on experience Level: Mid-to-Senior Level Experience: 6+ years required ABOUT THE COMPANY The client is a growing heavy civil construction company specializing in asphalt paving, earthwork, and related construction services in Florida. The company is expanding its bidding capacity and is looking for an experienced Construction Estimator to join its team. This is an opportunity to work closely with an established estimating team and take ownership of complex bids from plans and specifications through submission. WHAT THEY'LL DO

  • Perform takeoffs and bid preparation from plans and specifications
  • Handle RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, and revisions
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors—including persistent follow-up to meet bid deadlines
  • Manage pre-construction support and site coordination documentation
  • Use Bluebeam, WinX Grade, and Heavy Bid (or similar estimating software)
  • Review complex public bid packages with detailed specs to ensure compliance
  • Self-perform cost analysis for heavy civil and asphalt paving scopes
  • Support site visits or provide effective onsite communication (with client support for site visits when remote) IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Civil engineer or construction estimator with 6–15 years of experience
  • Strong background in heavy civil, earthwork, and asphalt/paving estimating
  • Fluent English speaker with proven US construction experience
  • Familiar with Bluebeam, Heavy Bid, or comparable estimating software (training available if needed)
  • Excellent communication skills for subcontractor coordination
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage complex bid packages and specifications
  • Proactive problem-solver comfortable with high-volume, time-sensitive bidding STANDOUT SIGNAL
  • Direct experience with asphalt paving or heavy civil projects
  • Proven success coordinating with multiple subcontractors under tight deadlines
  • Experience with public bid work and government specifications
  • Familiarity with Heavy Bid software
  • Track record of improving bid turnaround time and quality CLIENT STYLE
  • Professional, detail-focused, and quality-driven
  • Values persistence and accountability in vendor/subcontractor management
  • Appreciates efficiency and the ability to work independently in a remote setup
  • Direct communicator; prefers candidates who ask clarifying questions NON-NEGOTIABLES
  • Fluent English (written and verbal for subcontractor calls)
  • Minimum 6 years of construction estimating experience
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam OR willingness to learn quickly
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) in US Eastern Time zone
  • Experience with heavy civil or earthwork estimating (asphalt/paving experience strongly preferred)
  • Comfort managing complex bid coordination and subcontractor outreach
