NTU's Asian School of the Environment is recruiting two Research Associates in computational ecology to develop process-guided and AI-assisted soil community foundation models for natural climate solutions.
Full job description
The team is hiring two full-time Research Associates, with a possible start as early as 1 September 2026. Projects include soil organic-carbon model development, enhanced rock-weathering modelling and physics-informed deep learning, hybrid modelling or reasoning-AI algorithms. Prior research participation and evidence of peer-reviewed publication or conference presentation are preferred. Applicants are asked to submit a cover letter, CV with two references and one representative publication if applicable.
Requirements & qualifications
Applicants should hold a master's degree in ecology, biogeochemistry, Earth or soil science, environmental science, hydrology, computer science or a related field. The vacancy also asks for familiarity with soil carbon or element cycles and relevant experience in areas such as process-based modelling, Earth-system modelling, data assimilation, large-scale data synthesis, high-performance computing or deep learning.
