Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Resident Engineer to oversee all on-site engineering and construction activities for an ongoing residential development project in Dubai.
The selected candidate will be fully assigned to the current project during its active construction phase, with the opportunity to transition into future real estate developments within our expanding project pipeline.
This role requires full project commitment, strong technical leadership, and the ability to safeguard quality, timelines, costs, and compliance across all stages of development.
Primary Responsibilities – Current Projects
1. Site Supervision & Execution Control
- Oversee all on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with approved IFC drawings and specifications
- Monitor contractor performance, productivity, and workmanship
- Ensure adherence to Dubai Municipality regulations and authority requirements
- Identify risks, delays, or quality concerns and implement corrective measures
2. Quality Assurance & Technical Compliance
- Enforce strict quality control standards
- Review and approve material submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and ITPs
- Conduct inspections and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs)
- Ensure high standards of finishing and execution
3. Planning, Monitoring & Reporting
- Review contractor programs of work and cash flow forecasts
- Track progress against baseline schedule
- Lead weekly coordination and progress meetings
- Prepare structured progress and risk reports for the Developer
4. Cost & Variation Oversight
- Review variation orders and assess technical justifications
- Validate work completion prior to interim payment certifications
- Monitor potential cost overruns and provide mitigation recommendations
5. Authority & Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with Dubai Municipality and relevant authorities
- Coordinate with consultants, architects, structural and MEP engineers
- Ensure timely inspections, approvals, and documentation
6. Project Closeout & Handover
- Oversee testing and commissioning
- Manage snagging and rectification process
- Ensure submission of as-built drawings and handover documentation
Future Project Involvement
Upon completion or stabilization of the current development, the Resident Engineer will:
- Support the planning and technical review of upcoming developments
- Participate in design reviews and value engineering exercises
- Contribute to contractor selection and pre-construction planning
- Establish quality control frameworks for future projects
- Oversee construction execution for new projects within the portfolio
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 10+ years of UAE construction experience
- Proven experience as Resident Engineer on residential or mixed-use developments
- Strong knowledge of Dubai Municipality regulations and authority processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage contractors independently
- Strong reporting and documentation skills
