Complete competition details
Torgið 2026 runs from 7 to 10 October 2026. Participants work on real challenges from Reitir and develop and present solutions to a judging panel. Reykjavík University states that only 10 teams can participate. The winning team receives a study visit to Copenhagen, with opportunities to meet industry professionals, expand its network and present its ideas. The programme is intended to build innovation, creative thinking, cross-disciplinary collaboration and practical experience with real business challenges.
Eligibility requirements
Open to full-time Reykjavík University undergraduate and master's students across departments. Teams consist of three to five students. Students may also register individually for possible pairing with others. Participation is limited to 10 teams.
Tips for this competition
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Study the scoring criteria and previous winners before deciding what evidence, prototype, essay, research or portfolio will best support the entry.
- Confirm country, age, team, education and organization restrictions and whether one person may enter multiple submissions.
- Follow the required file format, word/time limits and naming rules exactly; technical non-compliance can disqualify a strong entry.
- Keep proof of submission and submit before the deadline rather than relying on the final hour.
Verification notes
Verified against Reykjavík University's fresh 7 September 2026 English and Icelandic announcements and the current Torgið page, which state registration is open through 30 September 2026. The canonical page also contains a lower stale sentence saying registration is closed; the freshly dated announcement and current 2026 registration block were treated as controlling evidence. No application fee is stated.
Job and Scholarship is the discovery and verification layer. Confirm eligibility, dates, salary/funding and application instructions on the original source before submitting anything.
