Hong Kong's RGC is accepting university nominations for a 24-month postdoctoral fellowship across all academic disciplines.

The 2027/28 JRFS call opened on 14 August 2026 and university nominations close at 5:00 p.m. Hong Kong time on 30 October 2026. The fellowship supports a full-time postdoctoral appointment for 24 months. The prevailing annual stipend is around HK$430,000, including a conference and research-related travel allowance around HK$13,600; rates may be adjusted annually. Up to 60 awardees are supported under the scheme.
Eligibility requirements
Nominees must have the legal right to work and reside in Hong Kong during the fellowship, have a PhD conferred on or after 1 January 2023 or complete PhD requirements by 31 August 2027, and be supported by a UGC-funded university. Each university may nominate up to 15 candidates.
