Hackathon format & key facts
Organized detailsOverview
A free, face-to-face international student hackathon across RMIT venues in Australia and Vietnam plus Taylor’s University in Malaysia.
Complete hackathon details
The event runs 22–23 October 2026. Teams tackle connected challenges spanning security, generative AI and low-resource languages. All four team members must be physically present at the same event venue; online and cross-venue participation are not allowed. Participation is free. The current main event page advertises up to VND 100 million in total prize value.
Eligibility requirements
Teams must have exactly four currently enrolled university students. The main page states undergraduate and postgraduate eligibility; the FAQ additionally mentions PhD candidates. Team members participate together at one venue.
Tips for this hackathon
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Read the rules, eligibility, judging criteria, required technologies and intellectual-property terms before forming your submission plan.
- Build a complementary team early and assign product, engineering, design, research and presentation responsibilities clearly.
- Optimize for the published judging rubric: demonstrate a real problem, working solution, measurable impact and a concise live demo.
- Prepare the repository, pitch deck, demo video and submission links before the final hours so upload or platform problems do not invalidate the entry.
- Check whether travel, finalist presentations, team-size limits or mandatory attendance apply before committing.
Verification notes
Current main event page checked 2026-09-09 UTC. An older FAQ contains stale TBA wording and omits the Malaysia venue; this record uses the fresher main landing page for dates, Malaysia venue, free registration and advertised prize value.
Job and Scholarship is the discovery and verification layer. Confirm eligibility, dates, salary/funding and application instructions on the original source before submitting anything.
