The Royal Society Industry Fellowship supports UK-based academic and industrial researchers moving between academia and industry to build collaborative natural-science research and knowledge exchange.

The 2027 Round 1 opened 22 July 2026 and closes 16 September 2026. Fellowships can run for two years full-time or pro rata at a minimum of 50% part-time for four years. Applicants may request up to £168,000 over the award period, including the fellow's basic salary during the secondment and up to £4,000 per year in research expenses.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent professional standing, hold a permanent or open-ended post in a UK university, eligible not-for-profit research organization or industry, and propose research within the Royal Society's natural-sciences remit. Applicants may be of any nationality; eligible awardees requiring a visa may use the Global Talent Visa fast-track endorsement route.
