Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a RVP, Solution Engineering - Mid-Market/Commercial based in United States. This role leads a team of Solutions Engineers supporting mid-market and commercial customers through complex technical sales opportunities. You will shape a repeatable technical discovery and enablement strategy while driving consistent, data-backed execution across a high-volume pipeline. The position combines people leadership, technical sales expertise, operational rigor, and close partnership with Sales and other cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for team performance, talent development, territory alignment, pipeline health, and technical win rates. A strong focus on scalable enablement, measurable business impact, and effective change leadership will be central to your success. This is a remote U.S. role with significant customer and team engagement and an expected 40–50% travel commitment.

Team Leadership: Lead and scale a Solutions Engineering organization supporting the Mid-Market/Commercial segment, establishing clear expectations, ownership, and consistent execution. Scaled Technical Enablement: Build and operate repeatable one-to-many technical discovery and enablement programs, including demo days, workshops, and self-service content. Territory & Opportunity Management: Own territory mapping and account and opportunity assignments, implementing clear ownership models and maintaining consistent oversight. Performance & OKRs: Translate organizational priorities into measurable objectives covering pipeline health, deal predictability, technical win rates, and other key performance indicators. Data-Driven Execution: Analyze pipeline and win-rate data to identify trends, communicate insights to sales and executive stakeholders, and turn findings into concrete improvements in team behavior and sales outcomes. Sales Partnership: Work closely with Sales leadership to align pipeline, revenue, and customer objectives while identifying and escalating risks and opportunities quickly. Talent Management: Hire, onboard, motivate, develop, and retain high-performing Solutions Engineering talent through regular one-on-ones, coaching, mentoring, and performance management. Change Leadership: Guide teams through organizational or operating-model changes while maintaining engagement, clarity, and business performance. Stakeholder Influence: Build strong relationships across cross-functional teams and strategic partners, using clear and compelling communication to support innovation and operational efficiency. Requirements Professional Experience: 7+ years of industry experience with strong technical knowledge across areas such as networking, security, IT operations, scripting, and/or programming. Leadership Experience: 3–5 years leading technical sales engineering or solutions engineering teams, with direct experience managing individual contributors rather than solely owning a book of business. Education: Associate's degree or equivalent professional experience required; a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field is a plus. Measurable Business Impact: Demonstrated ability to personally drive improvements such as shorter sales cycles or increased average sales price, with the ability to clearly explain the actions taken and measurable outcomes achieved. Scaled Enablement: Experience building or managing one-to-many technical discovery or enablement programs, including workshops, demo days, or scalable technical content. Data-Driven Leadership: Strong ability to establish specific performance targets, interpret pipeline and win-rate data, and use evidence to guide changes in team behavior and execution. Change Management: Experience leading teams through reorganizations, territory-model changes, account assignment changes, or other periods of organizational transformation. Customer Experience: Experience working with mid-market and commercial customers in a high-volume opportunity environment, supported by strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Management Style: Empathetic, inclusive, and accountable leadership approach, with a strong commitment to coaching, skill development, and career growth. Communication: Executive-level communication skills, emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and the ability to identify and communicate risks or blockers proactively. Influencing: Strong ability to influence teams and strategic partners through logical, compelling arguments that drive innovation and efficiency. Location & Travel: Must be based in the United States and able to travel approximately 40–50% of the time. Benefits Base Salary: $210,000–$322,000 annually, with the actual offer varying based on factors such as location, education, skills, training, and experience. Equity: Equity awards as part of the overall compensation package. Medical, Dental & Vision: Comprehensive healthcare coverage. Family Planning: Family planning benefits. Health & Flexible Spending: Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Account options. Transportation: Transportation savings account. Retirement: 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match. Insurance Coverage: Life, accident, disability, and business travel accident coverage. Well-Being: Employee assistance programs and additional well-being benefits. Volunteer Time: Five days of volunteer time off annually to support community and charitable initiatives. Work Model: Remote U.S. position with an expected 40–50% travel commitment.
