Overview
Rwanda's Ministry of Health runs a one-year intensive internship training programme for qualified medical doctors and dental surgeons, with supervised clinical practice at accredited internship centres.
Complete internship details
The internship lasts twelve months. Medical-doctor interns rotate at three-month intervals through Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics & Neonatology, and Obstetrics & Gynecology while completing required procedures and cases. Candidates obtain a provisional internship licence from the Rwanda Medical and Dental Council and then submit through the Health Workforce Management System.
