Lead safety investigations, audits and reviews across the department.Help build a safer workplace through clear advice and action.Work across Melbourne and country locations when needed.Have a direct impact on safety, fairness and staff wellbeing.Ongoing, full-time role earning $100,894 - $114,476 per year, plus super.What you will doAs Safety Investigator and Auditor, you will lead safety investigations, audits and reviews across the department. You will help build strong safety systems and support managers and staff to meet their safety duties.You will:lead thorough safety investigations and identify causes, risks and suitable controls.review safety investigations to ensure they meet clear legal and departmental requirements.design and maintain a strong safety assurance framework covering audits, reviews and reporting.plan and deliver audits that identify important risks, gaps and ways to improve safety.provide clear advice, coaching and support to managers, Health and Safety Representatives and staff.About youA formal qualification in occupational health and safety is highly desirable. A lead auditor qualification or equivalent experience is preferred, along with investigations qualifications such as a Certificate IV or Diploma of Government (Investigations).You should also have:strong experience in occupational health and safety investigations, audits and governance within a complex organisation.strong knowledge of safety laws, codes of practice and investigation methods such as ICAM and root cause analysis.experience designing systems and frameworks that support compliance, assurance and ongoing improvement.clear communication skills and the ability to work with others, solve problems and support capability.To learn even more about this role, please read the position description.
