Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sales Commissions Analyst based in United States. This is a hands-on, business-critical role responsible for ensuring sales commissions are accurate, timely, and fully reconciled each cycle. You will own the end-to-end commission process, working directly within Spiff and related systems. The role combines data validation, commission administration, troubleshooting, quality assurance, and reporting. You’ll partner closely with Sales, Finance, and Business Operations to resolve discrepancies and support reliable payouts. Your work will directly impact sales teams by ensuring representatives receive accurate compensation and clear answers to payout questions. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced commissions professional who thrives on ownership, precision, and solving complex data issues independently. The role is fully remote, offers flexible hours around commission close, and is initially structured as a minimum six-month contract.
Own recurring monthly or quarterly commission cycles end-to-end, from source-data validation through final payout. Administer and maintain existing compensation plans and commission logic, including quotas, attainment, rates, accelerators, bonuses, splits, clawbacks, and other plan mechanics. Validate CRM and other source data feeding commission calculations and reconcile discrepancies before payouts are finalized. Troubleshoot calculation errors, investigate unexpected results, and conduct quality assurance checks before each commission cycle closes. Manage manual adjustments, exceptions, true-ups, and other non-standard commission scenarios. Produce final commission outputs and reporting for Sales, Finance, and relevant business stakeholders. Respond to questions from sales representatives and managers, investigate commission disputes, and resolve issues accurately and fairly. Maintain clear documentation, supporting records, and an auditable trail for commission activity. Identify manual, fragile, or inefficient processes and recommend improvements that make commission operations more reliable and scalable. Collaborate closely with Business Operations, Sales leadership, representatives, and Finance to ensure commission processes support both sales performance and financial close requirements. Requirements Hands-on experience personally managing a monthly or quarterly sales commission process from beginning to end. Strong understanding of sales compensation mechanics and the ability to translate plan rules into accurate commission payouts. Advanced proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets, including data reconciliation and analysis. Strong ability to investigate discrepancies across multiple systems and independently identify root causes. Exceptional attention to detail, with a proactive approach to identifying errors before they affect payouts. Demonstrated ability to own a business-critical recurring process with minimal supervision and consistent follow-through. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when explaining commission calculations or resolving payout disputes. Direct experience with Spiff is strongly preferred. Experience working in a SaaS or high-growth technology environment is highly desirable. Experience supporting multiple sales roles, compensation plans, or commission structures simultaneously is preferred. Salesforce experience is an advantage. SQL or broader data-analysis skills are a plus. Experience improving, implementing, or automating commission processes is beneficial. Familiarity with commission accruals and Finance close processes is a plus. Comfortable working remotely with reliable availability and coverage around commission-close periods. Benefits Fully remote work environment. Flexible working hours, with reliable coverage required around commission-close periods. Minimum six-month contract with an ASAP start. Opportunity to work with a fast-growing technology organization and a scaling sales function. High-impact ownership of a business-critical compensation process. Direct collaboration with Sales, Finance, and Business Operations leaders. Suitable for independent consultants, professionals between roles, or experienced compensation specialists seeking contract opportunities. Opportunity to improve and strengthen commission processes rather than simply maintain existing workflows.
