Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sales Development Representative based in Australia. As a Sales Development Representative, you’ll play a key role in building the early-stage sales pipeline across the Australian market. You’ll identify and engage prospective customers through outbound channels, including cold calling, email, social media, and networking. The role combines prospect research, consultative communication, lead qualification, and relationship building with technology and cybersecurity decision-makers. You’ll help prospects understand the value of advanced cybersecurity solutions while identifying opportunities that align with their needs. Working closely with the wider sales team, you’ll ensure qualified opportunities move smoothly through the sales process. This is a fast-paced opportunity for a motivated sales professional who enjoys measurable goals, continuous learning, and engaging with complex technology. You’ll also develop valuable expertise in the cybersecurity market and emerging security trends.

Identify, research, and engage potential customers across the Australian market through outbound prospecting, including cold calls, email campaigns, social media, networking, and relevant industry events. Qualify inbound and outbound leads by understanding prospect needs, business context, decision-making structures, and alignment with the target customer profile. Engage prospects in consultative conversations, clearly communicating the value and relevance of cybersecurity solutions while addressing initial questions and challenges. Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including C-level executives, IT leaders, security professionals, and other relevant decision-makers. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prospect interactions, qualification details, activities, and opportunities throughout the early sales pipeline. Collaborate closely with sales colleagues to hand over qualified opportunities and support strategic campaigns, events, promotions, and other business development initiatives. Monitor cybersecurity industry trends, competitive developments, emerging technologies, and customer challenges to improve prospect conversations and market positioning. Consistently work toward and exceed assigned targets for lead generation, qualified opportunities, and other relevant sales development metrics. Continuously strengthen product knowledge, cybersecurity expertise, prospecting techniques, and consultative sales skills through training, self-study, and practical experience. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Demonstrated experience in sales development, business development, lead generation, or a comparable customer-facing sales role, ideally within cybersecurity or technology. Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal. Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, technologies, market trends, and common security challenges is highly desirable. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and engage prospects effectively. Consultative and solution-oriented selling skills, with the ability to communicate value propositions and generate interest in complex technology solutions. Strong prospecting and relationship-building abilities, with confidence engaging stakeholders across different seniority levels. Highly motivated and results-oriented, with a proactive approach to achieving individual and team goals. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple prospects, activities, priorities, and deadlines. Adaptability and resilience in a fast-moving environment, with the ability to respond effectively to changing market conditions and business priorities. Curiosity and willingness to continuously learn about cybersecurity, technology, sales methodologies, and customer needs. Benefits: Remote working environment with flexibility to work from Australia. Private health insurance. Access to an internal e-learning and professional development platform. Supportive environment with experienced and knowledgeable teammates. Opportunities to build expertise in cybersecurity, technology, and consultative sales. Birthday and dedicated security-awareness day off. Opportunity to work in a dynamic, international environment focused on innovation and growth.
