Faculty for the Future is accepting 2027–2028 fellowship applications from eligible women scientists and engineers from listed low- and middle-income countries who are pursuing PhD study or postdoctoral research in STEM at a strong host university or research institute abroad.

New applications are accepted online from 1 September through 7 November 2026. The initial grant is for one academic year and renewal is not automatic. Funding is based on approved applicant expenses. The programme supports PhD and postdoctoral research only, not master's study. Applicants must satisfy the Foundation's current country and programme eligibility criteria in the application system.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be women who are citizens of an eligible low- or middle-income country where women are underrepresented in STEM, without dual citizenship from a developed country. They must be preparing for a STEM PhD or postdoctoral research programme and be enrolled, admitted or have applied to a strong host university or research institute abroad. Applicants need an excellent academic record, evidence of leadership and community outreach, and a demonstrated commitment to return to their home country or region and contribute through research, teaching, STEM entrepreneurship or public-sector policy.
