Senckenberg is accepting applications from doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers from Global South countries for short research fellowships hosted at its German research institutes.

Global Fellowships support three-month research stays at Senckenberg, with selected cases extendable to six months. Fellows can use Senckenberg collections, laboratories, research infrastructure, libraries and scientific expertise in fields including biodiversity, anthropology, geology, genomics, conservation ecology and collection-based research. Applicants must identify a suitable Senckenberg host and jointly develop the proposed research project.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must come from a country included in Senckenberg's Global South eligibility list and hold a Master's or PhD degree in a Senckenberg research area. A Senckenberg scientific host and host-support letter are required. Parallel project funding during the fellowship period is not permitted. Senckenberg states that permanent residents of Germany, EU countries, North America, Australia and comparable non-eligible regions are not eligible regardless of nationality.
