EMARKETER is a subsidiary of Axel Springer SE, a family-owned transatlantic media company headquartered in Berlin and New York. Axel Springer's guiding principles – first articulated as The Essentials by founder Axel Springer in the aftermath of World War II – remain a cornerstone of the company’s foundation today. Learn more about Axel Springer.

We are hiring a Senior Account Executive to join our New Business Subscription Sales team at EMARKETER.

The Role and Team:

As a Sr Account Executive, you are responsible for strategically working an assigned territory to identify, engage and win new clients in order to position and sell EMARKETER's syndicated, subscription-based research offering. Your territory will be composed of the world’s largest brands, technology companies, media organizations and/or agencies.

Sr Account Executives engage with mid to senior-level executives to diagnose needs and connect the dots between those needs and the research, data, and forecasts we produce. The ultimate goal is to bring on as many new clients as possible and to achieve your annual bookings target.

You will report to the VP of New Business Sales and work closely with your peers to achieve your goals.

This is a hybrid role based out of our New York City office, with regular in-office expectations.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future. Candidates must be within commuting distance of our New York City office. Relocation assistance is not available.

The Ideal Candidate is:

  • A results-driven and tenacious go-getter who’s excited by new challenges and stays positive in the face of adversity. You expect yourself to exceed your goals and know how to make it happen.

  • A strategic problem solver and negotiator who is intellectually curious, knows the right questions to ask and how to uncover business challenges at all levels of an organization.

  • A confident communicator who has an affinity for navigating strategic, consultative conversations and can hold their ground with leading business professionals.

  • A compelling storyteller with the ability to communicate present and future value to folks at all levels within an organization.

  • A diligent prospector who is constantly working to drive pipeline through their own efforts, in addition to the support of our Marketing team.

  • A hard worker with a coachable spirit with an openness to feedback and desire for constant improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Successfully achieve your quarterly and annual bookings quota

  • Research potential accounts and ideal buyers in your territory and actively engage them with multi-channel prospecting activity in order to ensure consistent pipeline quality, quantity, and velocity

  • Leverage our sales process and consultative selling methodology to continually qualify opportunities, progress them through your pipeline and ultimately win them

  • Anticipate and address customer objections, seeking to resolve concerns and drive win/win outcomes

  • Track all activity in Salesforce; consistently keep contact and opportunity records up to date to deliver predictable forecasting to the sales leadership team

  • Forecast accurately and develop the necessary pipeline to meet/exceed quota.

  • Take ownership of the end-end sales processes in your territory, targeting folks in marketing, advertising, ecommerce, consumer insights, strategy/innovation and market research.

  • Close deals by researching opportunities, prospecting, initiating discussions, building relationships, and conducting discovery calls and demos. This is an end-to-end new business sales role and no task is too small or too large.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 5 to 10 years of B2B sales experience, with a strong preference for demonstrated consultative sales experience and a proven ability to sell data-driven insights or market research.

  • Proven track record of success consistently exceeding sales quotas in a full-cycle new business role through strategic prospecting and territory planning.

  • Expertise in managing complex deals from discovery and executive-level communication to pricing negotiation and contract closure.

  • Deep industry relevance, with experience selling directly to business leaders across marketing, advertising, media, CPG, technology, or consumer insights.

  • Strong operational discipline, including accurate pipeline management and forecasting within Salesforce or a similar CRM.

  • Bachelor's degree required.

Salary & Benefits (US):

  • $115,000 - $125,000 base salary (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)

  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $212,000-$222,000 (base + uncapped commission)

  • Unlimited PTO, 10 paid holidays, and 16 weeks of parental leave

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans

  • Matched and vested 401(k) plan

  • Access to resources for financial planning, family planning, mental health, and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)

  • Additional perks: commuter benefits, phone reimbursement, gym membership discounts, and more

Salary for the role is commensurate with experience and depends on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.

US pay range

$115,000—$125,000 USD
