Identify, approach, and onboard new merchants across various industries onto our payment services (POS terminals, QR payments, e-wallets), with a focus on strategic and higher-volume accounts. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing merchants across Bohol and Eastern Visayas to drive usage, retention, and satisfaction. Lead negotiations on merchant discount rates (MDRs), commercial terms, and service agreements, including more complex or high-value deals. Collaborate with internal teams (product, tech, operations) to support smooth onboarding and integration, and flag process gaps affecting the region. Serve as the senior point of contact for merchant queries, support, and escalations, stepping in on issues that require additional seniority or judgment. Own account and portfolio performance for the region — monitor transaction volumes, track KPIs, and identify and act on growth opportunities. Mentor and provide guidance to junior account managers or new hires in the region, as needed. Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer needs in the payments and fintech space, and share market insights with the broader team. Represent the company at merchant and industry events across Bohol and Eastern Visayas.
Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field. 4–7 years of experience in merchant acquisition, business development, or account management, preferably in fintech, banking, payments, or e-commerce, with a track record of increasing scope or seniority. Proven experience closing high-value deals and managing a large, high-volume portfolio independently. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, including experience negotiating with senior merchant stakeholders. Customer-focused mindset with a strong drive to exceed targets and KPIs. Highly self-directed with strong organizational and time management skills; comfortable operating with significant autonomy across a wide regional territory. Ability to coordinate with international partners and stakeholders. Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding quotas and receiving positive customer feedback. Based in Bohol or Eastern Visayas, or willing to relocate; strong familiarity with the local merchant landscape and business community is a plus. Willingness to travel extensively within Bohol and Eastern Visayas, including to less accessible areas, for merchant visits. Prior experience mentoring or informally leading junior team members is a plus.
