Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting and financial management needs of Monster Transmission. This position will work closely with Monster’s on-site management team and the broader Burnout Brands finance organization.

The Senior Accountant will function as a controller for Monster, providing hands-on financial support, maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing month-end activities, and helping management understand the financial performance of the business. This role requires someone who can move comfortably between detailed accounting work and operational business partnership.

The successful candidate will be proactive, organized, and capable of operating with a high degree of independence while maintaining strong communication with employees and leaders across multiple locations.

Requirements

  • Serve as the primary accounting and finance partner for Monster Transmission’s on-site management team.
  • Lead Monster’s month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare financial statements and analyze results against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
  • Record daily cash deposits and reconcile cash and credit card transactions.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
  • Provide management with insight into revenue, gross margin, labor, inventory, expenses, and other financial drivers.
  • Support the Controller and CFO during audits and ensure all documentation is accurate and audit-ready.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and capital expenditure analysis.
  • Oversee inventory and cost-accounting activities, including costing, reserves, variances, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, and other transaction-processing activities.
  • Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Support audits, tax compliance, financial-system improvements, and ERP integration initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, standardize, and automate accounting processes.
  • Collaborate with the broader Burnout Brands finance team on reporting and special projects.
  • Complete other accounting and finance responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA designation or active progress toward a CPA designation is preferred.
  • Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and general-ledger accounting.
  • Previous experience in a senior accountant, assistant controller, plant accountant, or similar role is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing, automotive, distribution, or e-commerce business is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing financial processes.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
  • Experience working with ERP and financial-reporting systems; experience with Infor SyteLine is an asset.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyze and organize large amounts of financial data.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations, business units, or legal entities is an asset.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
