Senior Associate, Systems Engineer – Surveillance (L2, ASDB Focus)
Position Summary
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support the development of Aircraft Specific Database (ASDB) components within the Surveillance product line. This role focuses on requirements definition, interface development, and support for system-level integration of surveillance products into aircraft environments.
You will work across systems, hardware, and software teams to translate aircraft configurations and stakeholder needs into structured requirements and validated database solutions. This role primarily supports design and requirements activities with some involvement in verification and test support.
Key responsibilities
- Support development of Aircraft Specific Database (ASDB) components across the system lifecycle
- Identify aircraft-level integration impacts, including equipage, wiring, and data interfaces
- Define ASDB interface requirements and system behaviors
- Develop interface data structures supporting system integration
- Write and maintain system documentation, including SRS and SRD artifacts
- Support requirements traceability and change management
- Develop and support execution of test procedures, test cases, and validation scripts
- Support system integration activities and assist with issue resolution
- Collaborate across systems, software, and integration teams
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems engineering processes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline
- Experience supporting systems engineering activities such as requirements definition or system integration
- Ability to develop structured documentation (SRS, SRD)
- Understanding of interfaces, data structures, or system integration concepts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Experience using automation and AI tools to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency
- Demonstrated a continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to evaluate processes and implement more effective ways of working
- Ability to adopt and promote automation and AI tools to improve team speed, quality, and execution
Preferred Additional Skills
- Exposure to avionics or aircraft integration environments
- Familiarity with surveillance systems (TCAS, transponders, ADS-B)
- Experience supporting system testing or validation activities
- Awareness of ARP4754A or similar systems engineering processes
- Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
