Senior Azure Platform Engineer (Relocation Provided)

We are looking for an experienced Azure Platform Engineer / Cloud Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in designing, managing and automating containerized workloads within Microsoft Azure. The role requires substantial experience operating Azure environments in production within corporate organisations and building reliable, secure and automated cloud platforms. You will work across container orchestration, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, networking, identity, observability and cloud security. The position also requires strong automation and programming capabilities, with a particular focus on supporting backend-heavy systems and reducing repetitive operational work through engineering and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, manage and continuously improve Azure cloud environments supporting containerized production workloads.

• Build and operate container platforms using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Container Apps and/or Azure App Service.

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Bicep.

• Automate development, security and operational processes through CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps.

• Automate repetitive infrastructure and operational activities using scripting, programming and Infrastructure as Code.

• Implement and maintain appropriate networking and Identity & Access Management controls within Azure environments.

• Apply security principles and best practices across public-cloud infrastructure and containerized workloads.

• Support monitoring and operational visibility using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics Workspaces.

• Develop and maintain automation and backend-oriented solutions using languages such as Python, Java, TypeScript or equivalent.

• Contribute to the design of secure, maintainable and scalable backend-heavy systems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant hands-on experience with cloud, platform or infrastructure engineering, including substantial experience with Azure environments.

• Proven experience running containerized workloads in production Azure environments within corporate organisations.

• Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure.

• Experience with AKS, Azure Container Apps and/or Azure App Service.

• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, including writing Terraform and Bicep configurations.

• Proven experience automating Dev, Sec and Ops processes through CI/CD solutions, preferably Azure DevOps.

• Solid knowledge of cloud networking and Identity & Access Management concepts.

• Strong understanding of security principles for public-cloud environments and containerized workloads.

• Strong programming skills using Python, Java, TypeScript or an equivalent language.

• Experience designing or developing backend-heavy systems.

• Strong interest in automating repetitive tasks through scripting, programming and Infrastructure as Code.

• Experience with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics Workspaces.

• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID is considered an advantage.
