About the Role
Important: Laravel-only experience is not qualifying — proven Symfony experience is mandatory!!!
We’re hiring a Senior Symfony & PHP Software Engineer to help design, build, and maintain the core backend systems of our products. You’ll work as part of an Agile team, collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers to build scalable, reliable features that solve real-world problems.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys clean code, leading technical discussions, mentoring others, and shipping tested solutions that meet business needs.
Design and develop backend features that align with business goals and customer needs
Maintain and improve test coverage using PHPUnit
Build scalable, testable APIs and backend systems
Write clean, maintainable code that meets agreed quality standards
Review requirements and provide technical input and feedback
Collaborate closely with product, design, and QA teams
Monitor systems and respond to issues as part of a rotating on-call schedule
Break down larger projects into manageable tasks and guide others through implementation
Participate in code reviews and offer constructive feedback
Continuously improve processes and suggest technical enhancements
Promote secure coding practices and ensure code is free of known vulnerabilities
Document features, processes, and architecture for team-wide knowledge sharing
5+ years of experience working with PHP
3+ years of hands-on experience with Symfony
2+ years writing unit tests with PHPUnit
Excellent communication skills in cross-functional teams
Strong experience with MongoDB
Strong experience with Design Patterns (Object Oriented)
Familiarity with JavaScript, React, Node.js, and/or TypeScript
Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes
Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline workflows
Fixed Shifts: 11:30 AM - 9:00 PM PKT (Summer) | 12:30 PM - 10:00 PM PKT (Winter)
