This leadership role oversees the strategy, delivery, security, and ongoing support of internally developed applications and data platforms. You will guide a software development team while shaping technical standards, architecture, and development practices. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with ownership of application roadmaps and enterprise integrations. You will also oversee SQL Server environments and ensure trusted, well-structured data supports reporting and business intelligence. Working across infrastructure, security, vendors, and business stakeholders, you will deliver scalable and maintainable technology solutions. This is a fully remote opportunity offering meaningful ownership, professional growth, and the chance to influence critical technology foundations.
Lead, mentor, and support the software development team while establishing coding standards, development practices, and technical guidelines. Manage third-party software vendors and outsourced development partners, including technical deliverables and project coordination. Review application and solution architecture for scalability, security, maintainability, and long-term effectiveness. Administer Software Composition Analysis tools such as Mend.io to monitor open-source components, licensing requirements, and vulnerabilities. Ensure internally developed and externally delivered code is appropriately scanned and security vulnerabilities are remediated. Maintain technical documentation, application architecture, and development standards. Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and business leaders to deliver strategic technology solutions. Requirements: 5+ years of professional software development experience. Expert-level knowledge of SQL Server, including database design, optimization, and performance tuning. Strong experience with C#, .NET/.NET Core, REST APIs, and systems integration. Experience managing software vendors, outsourced development partners, and technical projects. Proficiency with Git and modern software development practices. Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, secure coding principles, vulnerability management, and application security. Experience with Mend.io or a comparable Software Composition Analysis or application security platform. Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Experience with AWS or Azure cloud environments is preferred. Familiarity with AWS/Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions and CI/CD practices is preferred. PowerShell automation experience is a plus. Experience supporting enterprise reporting through trusted data platforms is preferred. Experience in financial services, collections, or another regulated industry is advantageous. At least one year of experience in a leadership role is preferred. For remote work, a broadband internet connection is required, with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload speeds, using a hard-wired connection rather than Wi-Fi or mobile hotspots. Benefits: CAD $90,000–$108,000 annual salary. Fully remote, work-from-home position. Company-issued equipment for remote employees. Paid training. Team-oriented work environment. Opportunities for professional growth and career development. Generous bonus opportunity. Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage. Retirement plan.
