This role provides senior engineering leadership for complex U.S. Navy and Department of Defense energetics facility projects. You will oversee design, renovation, construction, and commissioning activities supporting manufacturing, processing, testing, storage, and explosives ordnance operations. The position requires deep expertise in the specialized safety, facility, and engineering considerations of energetics environments. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, HVAC, electrical, structural, fire protection, civil, and process engineering disciplines. The role combines technical oversight, project leadership, client engagement, design review, and practical problem-solving across active facility portfolios. You will help ensure projects meet stringent DoD and U.S. Navy requirements while supporting safety, constructability, maintainability, quality, schedule, and cost objectives. This is a high-impact opportunity to contribute to critical defense infrastructure in a collaborative and technically demanding environment.

Coordinate with clients, process engineers, manufacturing personnel, safety professionals, construction teams, and other stakeholders to resolve design, construction, and commissioning challenges. Conduct technical assessments of existing facilities and develop practical engineering recommendations addressing deficiencies, modernization needs, equipment replacement, process changes, and production capability improvements. Manage an active portfolio of projects while maintaining client expectations for quality, schedule, cost, and technical performance. Support site visits, facility assessments, design reviews, and technical meetings at DoD and U.S. Navy facilities as required. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline. 20+ years of relevant professional experience , including extensive work supporting DoD/U.S. Navy facilities associated with energetics manufacturing, processing, testing, storage, handling, or explosives ordnance operations. Strong subject-matter expertise in engineering for energetics and explosives facilities, including new construction, renovation, facility modifications, and infrastructure improvements. Deep understanding of the safety and engineering requirements associated with energetics operations, including fire and explosion hazards, hazardous material handling, process safety, facility separation, siting, containment, ventilation, and safe material flow. Experience integrating facilities, equipment, utilities, and infrastructure required for energetics manufacturing and processing operations. Strong familiarity with DoD and U.S. Navy criteria and standards applicable to energetics and explosives facilities, including NAVSEA requirements and relevant explosives safety criteria. Experience with design-bid-build construction projects, building codes, and permitting processes. Expertise in at least one relevant engineering discipline, with preference for broad knowledge across HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, structural, fire protection, and civil engineering. Demonstrated ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and integrate manufacturing and process requirements with facility design. Strong project and portfolio management capabilities, with excellent analytical, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, technical teams, manufacturing personnel, safety professionals, contractors, and other stakeholders.
