Senior Engineering Manager, Clinical

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager, Clinical based in United States. This role leads two engineering teams responsible for critical clinician ordering and patient continuity experiences. You will shape engineering health, delivery, technical direction, and team performance across both areas. The position combines people leadership with strategic technical oversight in a fast-moving product environment. You will partner closely with Product, Design, clinical stakeholders, and leadership to turn complex needs into effective solutions. A strong focus on AI-native engineering, technical excellence, sustainable delivery, and career development is central to the role. This is an opportunity to influence products that support how patients receive essential medical equipment and supplies at home.

Performance Management: Set clear performance expectations, provide direct and timely feedback, conduct meaningful reviews, support promotion cases, and address performance concerns early and fairly. Coaching and Growth: Lead multiple engineering teams and actively support career and technical development, helping tech leads and senior engineers grow their scope and ownership. Team Execution and Delivery: Own team goals and roadmap execution, remove blockers, improve feedback loops, protect focus, and maintain effective planning, review, and work-in-progress practices. AI-Native Engineering: Drive effective adoption of modern AI development tools, including agentic coding, repository-native tooling, MCP servers, and AI-assisted review and testing. Product and Design Partnership: Partner with Product Managers and Designers to shape scope, balance technical investment against user value, and maintain alignment between discovery and delivery. Strategic Technical Oversight: Review architecture decisions, conduct pre-launch risk assessments, and ensure connected product areas evolve with consistent technical direction. Technical Shaping: Lead early technical discovery, feasibility assessments, and capacity planning across multiple roadmaps. Engineering Engagement: Stay connected to technical execution through regular code reviews, design discussions, and incident retrospectives. Engineering Excellence: Promote strong engineering practices through agile methodologies, test-driven development, and robust software design principles. Stakeholder Management: Serve as a key engineering contact for Product, Design, clinical stakeholders, and senior leadership. Requirements Management Experience: At least 5 years of engineering management experience, including responsibility for multiple teams or management through technical leads. Engineering Experience: At least 10 years of experience delivering production software in professional environments. Performance Leadership: Demonstrated success developing engineers toward their next level while addressing underperformance directly and constructively. Technical Background: Professional experience working with open source programming languages and maintaining strong technical credibility. AI Development: Hands-on familiarity with modern AI development tooling and experience driving meaningful adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices across teams. Location: Must reside in the United States and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer visa sponsorship. Preferred Experience: Background in healthcare, clinical workflows, or another regulated environment is a plus. Organizational Leadership: Experience guiding teams through management transitions or periods of structural change is desirable. Architecture and Collaboration: Experience working within large shared codebases with clearly defined domain ownership boundaries is a plus. Benefits Base Salary: $260,000–$310,000, based on experience and level. Annual Bonus: Opportunity for an annual company-wide bonus of up to 15%, based on company performance.
