Senior Full-Stack & Cloud Engineer (Contract - 6 months)

Our partner is looking for a Senior Full-Stack & Cloud Engineer (Contract - 6 months) based in United States. This role offers the opportunity to take end-to-end technical ownership of an internally developed web application and transform it into a secure, reliable, and maintainable production solution. You will assess an existing AI-assisted codebase, identify technical debt and security risks, and strengthen the architecture without unnecessarily rebuilding effective components. The position combines hands-on full-stack engineering with cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, security, and production support. You will establish sustainable engineering standards and practices while continuing to develop features as business needs evolve. The role also provides significant autonomy, with responsibility for reliability, performance, cost, and long-term maintainability. It is well suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and applying sound engineering judgment to AI-assisted development.

Take technical ownership of the existing web application, reviewing and understanding its AI-generated codebase and overall architecture. Identify technical debt, security vulnerabilities, architectural risks, and areas for improvement, implementing targeted refactoring where appropriate. Develop and maintain front-end, back-end, API, and database functionality while delivering new features based on evolving business requirements. Establish and maintain coding, documentation, testing, code-review, and engineering standards. Design and maintain secure, simple, and cost-effective hosting infrastructure with separate development/test and production environments. Implement automated CI/CD pipelines with documented deployment, rollback, and release processes. Manage application configuration, secrets, certificates, domains, backups, and recovery processes. Implement monitoring, logging, error tracking, and alerting while tracking application reliability, performance, and infrastructure costs. Implement SSO authentication, role-based access control, least-privilege permissions, and audit logging. Conduct production-readiness assessments, prioritize remediation efforts, and collaborate with IT and security teams to meet organizational requirements. Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and enhancements across the application and infrastructure stack. Requirements: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant ownership of production applications. Strong full-stack development capabilities using modern web technologies. Demonstrated experience inheriting, evaluating, and improving existing codebases. Experience deploying and supporting applications in a major cloud or managed hosting environment. Strong understanding of Git-based software development workflows. Hands-on experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments. Working knowledge of relational databases, database security, migrations, and backup strategies. Experience implementing authentication, authorization, SSO, OAuth, and/or OpenID Connect. Strong understanding of application security fundamentals, secrets management, and least-privilege access. Experience implementing production logging, monitoring, alerting, and error tracking. Ability to independently troubleshoot production issues across application, cloud, and infrastructure layers. Experience supporting internal enterprise applications is preferred. Experience integrating applications with Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD, Okta, Google Workspace, or similar enterprise identity platforms is preferred. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi is preferred. Strong ownership, problem-solving, communication, and technical judgment, with the ability to work independently in a hands-on environment. Comfortable working with AI-assisted development tools while applying rigorous engineering, security, and maintainability standards.
