Senior Full Stack Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer based in Canada. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a large-scale digital initiative within a modern technology and product development environment. You will work across both frontend applications and backend services, helping build reliable, scalable, and cloud-native solutions. The position requires strong technical versatility, with responsibilities spanning APIs, databases, event-driven services, testing, and deployment. You will collaborate closely with product stakeholders and an Agile delivery team while working with a well-established application architecture and codebase. The role combines independent ownership with strong cross-functional collaboration and hands-on technical problem solving. You will contribute to software quality, automation, production stability, and continuous improvement throughout the development lifecycle. This is a remote contract opportunity for an experienced engineer who can quickly become productive and deliver meaningful technical impact.

Design, develop, enhance, and maintain modern frontend applications and backend services, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, maintainable, and aligned with product requirements. Build and integrate REST APIs, database-driven services, and supporting application components that enable effective communication between systems and user-facing experiences. Develop and maintain cloud-native application components, contributing to architectures that support scalability, resilience, and efficient deployment. Implement event-driven services and scheduled or background processing workloads to support asynchronous application functionality and reliable system operations. Develop automated unit and integration tests while maintaining strong software engineering standards around code quality, maintainability, source control, reviews, and documentation. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and containerized application deployments, helping ensure efficient, repeatable, and reliable software delivery. Troubleshoot application issues, investigate technical problems, and provide deployment and production support when required to maintain application stability. Collaborate with developers, product stakeholders, and other members of an Agile delivery team, communicating effectively and contributing to shared delivery goals. Quickly understand an established architecture and codebase, taking ownership of assigned work and becoming productive with minimal supervision. Requirements: Bring strong professional experience as a Full Stack Developer, with substantial hands-on experience across both frontend applications and backend services. Demonstrate strong TypeScript skills and experience developing modern frontend applications using frameworks such as React. Have backend development experience, preferably using Python or comparable server-side technologies, with a solid understanding of application architecture and service development. Demonstrate experience designing, developing, integrating, and consuming REST APIs, along with practical experience working with relational databases and database integrations. Bring experience developing cloud-native applications and working with cloud platforms; GCP experience is preferred, while relevant AWS or Azure experience is transferable. Have hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, modern software delivery practices, containerized applications, and deployment technologies such as Docker and/or Kubernetes. Demonstrate experience working with event-driven architectures and services, as well as scheduled jobs and background processing workloads. Possess a strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, including automated testing, source control, code reviews, maintainable application design, and production support. Be able to work independently, take ownership of technical assignments, manage priorities effectively, and become productive quickly within an established product environment. Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience contributing effectively within Agile delivery teams. Experience working directly with clients and stakeholders in a professional services or consulting environment is considered an asset. Previous experience delivering technology projects for Canadian public-sector organizations, government environments, or similarly regulated enterprises is considered an asset. Hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or demonstrate equivalent professional experience. Be based in Canada and legally authorized to work in Canada, with availability to collaborate during Pacific Time working hours. Benefits: Competitive contract rate of CAD $50–$70 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. 100% remote work arrangement for candidates based in Canada. Contract engagement with an anticipated start in October 2026 and an expected duration of approximately six months.
