Senior Fullstack Engineer, Quality Engineering

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer, Quality Engineering based in Brazil. This role focuses on improving software quality through full-stack engineering, test automation, and AI-powered Quality Engineering practices. You will build and evolve comprehensive automation coverage across the testing lifecycle, from unit and service testing through integration and end-to-end validation. The position combines web development, backend engineering, automation frameworks, CI/CD, and quality measurement to support reliable product releases. You’ll work directly with engineering teams to develop test tools, write and test product code, and design systems that are modular and highly testable. The role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex codebases, ambiguous challenges, and cross-team technical dependencies. Working in a fast-paced remote environment, you’ll collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams to continuously improve reliability, efficiency, and operational excellence.

Lead the implementation of test automation strategies across the full testing pyramid, including unit, service, integration, and end-to-end testing. Build, maintain, and effectively utilize automated tests to provide robust coverage for product features and releases. Collaborate closely with engineering teams to improve testing practices and continuously strengthen automation coverage. Develop and enhance existing automation frameworks to support new functionality and improve quality and engineering efficiency. Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with CI/CD teams, ensuring appropriate coverage throughout the development lifecycle. Develop and maintain test tools while contributing directly to product code where appropriate. Participate in design reviews and guide architectural decisions toward modular, maintainable, and highly testable systems. Troubleshoot complex issues, isolate failures, debug defects, and verify fixes discovered during testing and after release. Use quality signals such as test coverage, flaky test rates, suite execution time, and escaped defects to prioritize improvements and demonstrate measurable impact. Apply AI and modern tooling to accelerate testing, improve developer productivity, and enhance Quality Engineering practices. Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and other Quality Engineering teams in a fast-paced environment with short release cycles. Contribute to a culture of strong code quality, technical craftsmanship, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Requirements: 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering and software testing. Demonstrable experience with at least one web development language, such as TypeScript or JavaScript. Comfortable working with a backend programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Python, or Go. Strong understanding of software test automation methodologies, tools, and frameworks. Hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress. Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Buildkite, Spinnaker, or Jenkins. Strong experience with Git and modern version-control practices. Experience using quality metrics such as test coverage, flaky test rates, suite execution time, and escaped defects to guide engineering priorities. Proven ability to develop solutions for ambiguous and complex technical problems. Experience designing integrations or technical solutions that span multiple teams and have significant impact. Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working across Product, Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams. Curiosity about applying AI and large language models to software testing and developer productivity. Comfortable collaborating professionally in English.
