The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Internal Auditor to join our ANZ Internal Audit team and help drive governance, risk management and control effectiveness across our Australia and New Zealand operations. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Internal Audit, you'll play a critical role in providing independent assurance and insights that support better business decisions and stronger business outcomes

This role can be based in Sydney (Mascot) or Melbourne (CBD)

The Role

This is a unique opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of operational, financial, compliance and strategic audits while partnering with leaders across the business.

You'll lead audits from planning through to reporting, identifying opportunities to improve controls, enhance business processes and strengthen risk management practices. You'll also help introduce innovative approaches to assurance through data analytics, technology and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading audit engagements from planning, fieldwork and stakeholder management through to final reporting.
  • Identifying key risks, evaluating controls and developing practical recommendations.
  • Building strong relationships with business leaders while maintaining independence and professional objectivity.
  • Delivering high-quality audit reports and meaningful business insights.
  • Analysing complex information to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Supporting Internal Audit transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contributing to a modern, data-driven and technology-enabled assurance function

Qualifications and requirements

About You

You are naturally curious, analytical and commercially minded, with a passion for understanding how businesses operate and how they can be improved.

You will bring:

  • 5+ years' experience in Internal Audit, External Audit or Risk Advisory.
  • Experience gained within a large corporate organisation or professional services environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience working with data analytics and visualisation tools such as Power BI.
  • Strong project management capability and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as CA, CIA, CISA, CISSP or equivalent will be highly regarded

Experience in manufacturing, industrial operations or supply chain environments will be viewed favourably but is not essential.
