Fueled by bold ambition

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to play a key role in the development of race-winning mechanical systems for our Formula 1® programme. This role is suited to an engineer who combines technical excellence with a disciplined, detail-oriented approach, and who is motivated by delivering performance through precision and quality. You will take ownership of critical components and systems from concept through to manufacture, testing, and trackside validation delivering robust, right-first-time solutions within a high-performance, precision-driven environment.

Success in this role depends not only on your engineering capability, but on your ability to work collaboratively across functions to achieve the best overall car performance and delivering successfully to the challenging key milestones. Working closely with aerodynamics, vehicle performance, and manufacturing teams, you will help translate engineering excellence into on-track results ensuring every design reflects the highest standards of quality, reliability, and integration.

  • Lead the design and development of high-performance mechanical components and systems, delivering robust, well-resolved solutions with a strong focus on quality and precision
  • Develop CAD concepts, layouts, and detailed designs to a high level of maturity, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and manufacturability
  • Design systems including inboard suspension, composite suspension members, braking systems (including brake ducts), dampers, and steering components
  • Take full lifecycle ownership of projects - from concept through release, manufacture, testing, and on-car validation ensuring performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver fully integrated engineering solutions that maximise overall vehicle performance
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship, supporting knowledge sharing and the development of engineering capability across the team
  • Contribute to innovation through the considered application of new technologies, materials, and processes, including additive manufacturing and AI-driven design tools
  • Maintain rigorous standards of documentation, communication, and quality, with a focus on continuous improvement and engineering excellence

Requirements

What do we need from you?

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with strong expertise in areas such as suspension, braking and cooling systems, steering, or thermal systems
  • Advanced proficiency in high-end CAD systems (CATIA V5/3DX preferred)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and structural/mechanical analysis
  • Experience delivering complex projects within demanding timelines in a multidisciplinary engineering environment
  • Strong engineering judgement, with a structured and methodical approach to problem-solving and decision-making
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality, reliable outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and disciplines
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • A team-oriented individual who contributes positively to a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture
