This role will be part of the hardware team which is responsible for design and development of new platforms and maintenance of the existing platforms.
Define HW architecture for integration into OEM vehicles Define and Design mechanical and thermal hardware solutions Design cosmetic covers and finishes for the autonomous vehicles Work with OEM and partners to get buy in on final designs and integration plans Help build and improve new and current designs Work with cross functional teams to define product requirements Ensure that your work is performed in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Ensure team compliance with QMS, monitor quality, and drive process improvements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering 5+ years of hands-on, detailed product design experience Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, Unigraphics Experience working with surfacing tools on CAD tools GD&T knowledge and experience releasing 2D drawings Experience with vendor FAI/CPK dimensional reports Practical experience working through DFM challenges with external vendors Pdmlink/ Arena knowledge and experience a plus
Extensive experience using CAD, product design, managing requirements, tracking and resolving issues and resolutions. Ability to work cross functionally with other departments to achieve product goals. Demonstrated hands-on mechanical and manufacturing process experience and engineering development. Experience with FEA tools and understanding of vibration, fatigue and solid mechanics First-principles physics understanding of multiple engineering disciplines such as: heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and electrical fundamentals. Ability to travel.
