The Senior National Account Manager will lead retail account strategies designed to accelerate sales, profitability, and sustainable growth across key national accounts. This role combines strategic account planning, commercial negotiation, financial analysis, and cross-functional leadership. You’ll build joint business plans with major retail partners while influencing internal teams and customer stakeholders toward shared objectives. The position offers significant ownership across pricing, distribution, merchandising, inventory, product placement, and promotional programs. You’ll use customer, sales, and market data to identify opportunities, solve complex business challenges, and improve return on investment. Working across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Logistics, and other functions, you’ll help translate commercial strategy into strong retail execution. The role is remote within the United States and requires regular customer engagement and up to 50% travel.

Develop and execute joint business plans for assigned national retail accounts, aligning customer priorities with sales, profit, and inventory objectives. Negotiate account plans, contracts, trading terms, pricing, promotional programs, and other commercial arrangements to support profitable outcomes. Build and maintain strong relationships with customer decision-makers, influencers, buyers, and management teams at multiple organizational levels. Serve as the internal voice of the customer, developing comprehensive knowledge of account priorities, performance, challenges, and opportunities. Establish and execute strategies covering distribution, merchandising, pricing, inventory, product placement, and retail programs. Manage budgets, resources, and commercial investments to maximize return on investment and deliver against sales and profit targets. Analyze point-of-sale trends, customer data, financial performance, inventory, and demand forecasts to identify opportunities and proactively address risks. Partner with Marketing, Finance, Channel, Logistics, Product, and other internal teams to develop exclusive products, bundles, claims, and customer-specific initiatives. Coordinate business processes related to accounts receivable, legal requirements, customer service, contracts, and other administrative responsibilities. Visit customer headquarters regularly and participate in relevant customer and internal meetings, including potential international travel for strategic business planning. Support the broader national account sales organization by sharing knowledge, identifying process improvements, solving problems, and contributing to team success. Develop expertise across the product portfolio and stay informed about customer, category, and channel dynamics. Lead and develop direct and indirect reports while contributing to a high-performing, collaborative team environment. Take ownership of complex projects, identify opportunities for improvement, and act with urgency to deliver commercial objectives. Requirements Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Business or a related field. At least 7 years of experience in premium-brand national account sales or account management, preferably working with major national retailers. Broad experience across sales, operations, trade marketing, category management, and financial analysis. Proven track record of delivering against sales quotas, budgets, and commercial targets. Demonstrated ability to influence buyers and senior decision-makers and build productive relationships across customer organizations. Strong strategic planning skills, with the ability to develop long-term channel, retailer, and product strategies. Proven negotiation, conflict resolution, presentation, influencing, and closing skills. Strong P&L knowledge and the ability to evaluate short- and long-term commercial outcomes and optimize return on investment. Strong analytical and mathematical capabilities, including the ability to interpret POS trends and accurately forecast demand. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience working with internal and syndicated data systems and organizing information to support sales management and commercial decision-making. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer-facing and cross-functional collaboration skills. A proactive, objective, flexible, diligent, and accountable approach, with a strong commitment to team success. Demonstrated passion for technology and enthusiasm for developing high-performing customer partnerships. Full valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%. Benefits Annual salary of $147,200–$184,000 , plus bonus opportunity. 401(k) plan with up to a 4% employer match. Company-paid life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) coverage.
