Senior Platform Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer based in United States. This is an opportunity to help build and evolve the platform engineering capabilities that enable engineering teams to deliver software reliably at scale. You’ll work across CI/CD, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, infrastructure as code, and developer tooling in a modern engineering environment. The role combines hands-on technical execution with collaboration across development and cross-functional teams. You’ll help improve developer velocity, system reliability, security, and operational efficiency across production environments. The position offers the opportunity to explore emerging technologies, including AI-enabled capabilities, and introduce practical approaches that increase engineering impact. You’ll join a collaborative, communicative environment where curiosity, continuous improvement, and strong engineering practices are highly valued. Design, implement, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient, reliable, and repeatable software delivery. Develop and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform. Deploy, operate, and monitor containerized applications and production Kubernetes clusters in cloud environments, with AWS preferred. Manage and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure to support scalable, secure, and highly reliable applications. Administer GitHub repositories, workflows, and related developer collaboration processes. Partner with development teams to improve developer tooling and streamline software development lifecycle practices. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, deployment, and application issues across development and production environments. Establish and promote best practices for security, reliability, scalability, observability, and performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand technical requirements and deliver effective platform solutions. Evaluate and introduce new technologies and approaches, including AI-related capabilities, that can improve engineering velocity and impact. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or a similar technical role. Strong programming or scripting skills in Go/Golang or Python, particularly for automation and engineering tooling. Hands-on experience designing and managing infrastructure as code with Terraform. Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration, including experience with ArgoCD. Practical experience with AWS cloud services and production cloud infrastructure. Strong experience with GitHub for source control, collaboration, and engineering workflows. Good understanding of CI/CD practices, SDLC processes, networking, and Linux environments. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to work effectively in complex or high-pressure situations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to engineering. Experience with GitHub Actions/runners or other CI/CD platforms is a plus. Familiarity with Go, Python, or Java in the context of CI/CD and automation is beneficial. Knowledge of cloud security best practices is preferred. Experience with observability technologies such as Prometheus, ELK, and Grafana is advantageous. AWS or Kubernetes certification is a plus. Experience with Backstage, kOps, or Cilium CNI is also advantageous. Benefits: Base salary range of $129,000–$193,500 per year , depending on role level, work location, experience, skills, and education or training.
