Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Simulation Engineer who can take ownership of project execution, represent the team in front of clients, guide junior engineers, and deliver high-quality simulation work independently.

The role focuses primarily on Operator Training Simulator (OTS) projects, with opportunities to expand into Digital Twin and Monitoring Systems solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute Operator Training Simulator (OTS) projects from kick-off to client acceptance, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
  • Participate in Kick-off Meetings (KoM), client technical discussions, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
  • Develop and validate steady-state and dynamic simulation models for process systems.
  • Integrate Distributed Control Systems (DCS) including Emerson DeltaV, Foxboro/Schneider Electric, Yokogawa, Siemens, and ABB.
  • Build control emulation environments and implement PLC logic and Cause & Effect Diagrams.
  • Perform thermodynamic and dynamic analyses, engineering calculations, and data reconciliation.
  • Configure and support OTS architectures and related simulation environments.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers on technical activities and project execution.
  • Provide technical input and effort estimations for proposals and bids when required.
  • Review engineering deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Petrochemical Engineering.

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Process Simulation, OTS Configuration, or Process Plant Operations.

  • Experience within Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemical, Power, or Water Treatment industries.

  • Hands-on experience with one or more simulation platforms such as:

  • AVEVA Dynamic Simulation (Dynsim)

  • AVEVA Process Simulation

  • Aspen HYSYS

  • Aspen Plus / Aspen Dynamics

  • Honeywell UniSim

  • Equivalent simulation software

  • Strong understanding of P&IDs, PFDs, Control Narratives, and process documentation.

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide teams and work independently.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Fluent English language skills.

  • Willingness to travel and work on international assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Advanced Process Control (APC) and Real-Time Optimization (RTO).
  • Familiarity with Digital Twin solutions, Unified Engineering, and Asset Management systems.
  • Exposure to Monitoring Systems such as Leak Detection, Performance Monitoring, and PEMS.
  • Understanding of proposal preparation and bidding processes.
