Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Project Manager based in the United States. This role leads complex, multi-workstream client engagements where delivery excellence, financial performance, and effective governance are critical. You’ll oversee projects and portfolios from planning through execution, balancing scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and interdependencies. Working closely with service leaders, consultants, and client executives, you’ll turn operational data into clear decisions and actionable recommendations. The position requires confidence navigating ambiguity, evolving requirements, and incomplete information while maintaining strong delivery discipline. You’ll also help improve project methodologies, tools, resource planning, and governance practices across the organization. This is an opportunity to influence large-scale technology and professional services engagements while driving consistent, scalable delivery outcomes.
Lead large, complex projects and portfolios spanning multiple workstreams, managing scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies, and overall delivery performance. Own engagement economics, including budget-to-actual tracking, forecasting, reconciliation, burn analysis, estimates to complete, utilization, and margin impact. Translate delivery risks and operational issues into financial, business, and audit-relevant insights for senior stakeholders. Facilitate executive steering committees, governance forums, and program reviews while establishing and enforcing appropriate stage gates and delivery standards. Use delivery metrics such as burn, ETC, utilization, and risk heatmaps to support informed decision-making and proactive intervention. Develop and enhance delivery methodologies, templates, toolkits, and best practices to improve consistency and scalability. Build executive-ready dashboards and narratives from evolving or incomplete data, clearly communicating program status, risks, and recommendations. Lead or support the implementation and optimization of PSA and PPM platforms such as Smartsheet, Mavenlink, OpenAir, Adaptive, or Planview. Drive detailed resource and capacity planning and support portfolio prioritization across competing initiatives. Ensure alignment between SDLC practices, change management, access controls, and governance frameworks. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. 7+ years of project management experience in a professional services environment, or 10+ years of industry project management experience including at least 1 year in professional services. Proven experience leading complex, multi-workstream programs and managing projects through changing priorities and evolving requirements. Demonstrated ownership of engagement economics, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and performance management. Strong experience in resource management, capacity planning, and portfolio prioritization. Ability to operate effectively in environments characterized by ambiguity, incomplete requirements, imperfect data, and shifting scope. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) frameworks and the ability to train and enable delivery teams. Strong communication, executive presentation, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. PMP or PgMP certification is preferred. Experience aligning SDLC, change management, access controls, and governance practices is preferred. Working knowledge of ERP platforms and experience delivering ERP or large-scale technology programs is a plus. Familiarity with COBIT, ITIL, and GAAP concepts is preferred. Ability and willingness to travel approximately 15% to client locations, primarily across the Midwest and East Coast. Candidates should be comfortable working primarily within Central or Eastern U.S. time zones. Benefits: Estimated base salary of $117,000–$158,000, with actual compensation determined by location, skills, experience, education, certifications, business needs, and other applicable factors. Eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus based on applicable participation requirements and individual and organizational performance. Remote working opportunity within the United States. Eight health plan options, including HMO and PPO plans. Dental and vision coverage. Health Savings Account (HSA) eligibility with potential employer contributions. Employee Assistance Program and well-being incentives. Employer-sponsored basic life insurance and short- and long-term disability coverage. 401(k) savings plan with profit sharing and employer matching contributions. Education and professional certification assistance. Flexible time off, family care leave, parental leave, and family formation benefits. Cell phone reimbursement and travel rewards. Optional coverage including critical illness, accident, hospital indemnity, legal, long-term care, pet insurance, identity theft protection, and supplemental life/AD&D insurance.
