The Role The Senior Sales Manager will lead sales efforts and represent both the artist and the gallery. This is primarily an in-store sales role, focused on engaging directly with visitors and collectors at the gallery to build lasting relationships and close high-value sales. The position is central to expanding the collector base, particularly among American clients, and may include the responsibility of managing and mentoring a small junior sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive in-store sales of the artist’s paintings and related works.
- Represent the gallery and artist with professionalism, confidence, and charisma.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience, particularly for American collectors.
- Potentially lead and manage a small sales team (Junior Sales).
- Act as a cultural ambassador, aligning with Anglo-Saxon business norms and expectations.
Requirements
- Excellent sales skills: street-smart, confident, persuasive. At least 2 years of sales experience.
- Ability to sell not only products but also experiences and lifestyle.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; extroverted and engaging, almost performer-like in presence.
- Professional, polished, and culturally aware.
Preferred Experience
- Experience selling high-end, luxury, or artistic products.
- Familiarity with American and Canadian clients (through professional or personal exposure).
- Fluency in English (C2 level).
- Intermediate Spanish (B1-B2).
