Senior Security Architect

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Security Architect based in United States. This is a senior-level cybersecurity and cloud architecture role focused on strengthening security across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. You will define scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure architectures that support critical business and technology objectives. The role combines deep expertise in cloud platforms, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and infrastructure automation. You will partner with cloud, security, engineering, application development, and enterprise architecture leaders to embed security throughout the technology lifecycle. Your work will span secure design, identity and access management, encryption, monitoring, vulnerability management, data protection, and resilient application architectures. You will also serve as a technical authority, escalation point, and mentor while helping evolve security standards, policies, and operational practices. This remote U.S. opportunity is suited to an experienced architect who can balance strategic priorities with hands-on technical problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Define and communicate a scalable, resilient architecture vision for secure public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. Advise cloud teams and Cloud Centers of Excellence on secure deployments, configurations, and architecture decisions. Review architecture plans and collaborate closely with enterprise architecture teams to ensure security is integrated into broader technology strategies. Lead security architecture across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments, providing guidance throughout design, development, testing, and deployment. Partner with security, architecture, engineering, and technology leadership to align security solutions with business objectives. Establish and enforce enterprise standards for secure, resilient, compliant, and cost-efficient technology solutions. Serve as a cybersecurity subject matter expert and escalation point for complex technical issues, security incidents, and problem resolution. Identify security risks and design mitigation strategies to reduce the likelihood and potential business impact of security incidents. Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, strategies, playbooks, workflows, and procedures aligned with industry best practices and regulatory frameworks such as CMMC and NIST. Design and strengthen security controls covering monitoring, logging, identity and access management, encryption, data protection, threat detection, and prevention. Oversee compensating controls and mitigation strategies related to vulnerability management across technical teams. Promote infrastructure automation, provisioning, and cloud resource management using Infrastructure as Code principles. Architect scalable, resilient, and efficient containerized microservices. Guide technical leads and subject matter experts in adopting and implementing secure configurations and enterprise standards. Mentor junior team members and share cybersecurity and architecture expertise with technical and project teams. Continuously assess the evolving threat landscape and recommend improvements to security posture, monitoring, and response capabilities. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with equivalent directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree. At least 5 years of related professional experience, with extensive combined experience across IT, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity. Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform. Deep understanding of cloud architecture, cybersecurity principles, enterprise architecture, and security best practices. Experience designing and securing SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments. Strong knowledge of cloud security controls, identity and access management, encryption, data protection, monitoring, logging, detection, and preventive controls. Experience with Infrastructure as Code, cloud automation, provisioning, and management across multiple environments. Ability to develop cybersecurity strategies and architectures aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry frameworks. Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and risk assessment capabilities. Excellent communication, influencing, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills. Ability to balance strategic and tactical priorities while managing competing demands in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to mentor junior professionals and delegate responsibilities effectively. Ability to stay current with evolving cybersecurity technologies, cloud capabilities, threats, trends, and best practices. Preferred experience with government cloud deployments and communicating cybersecurity-related business risks to senior stakeholders. Preferred experience driving measurable improvements in security monitoring and incident response capabilities at scale. Preferred certifications include GIAC credentials such as GCAD, GCSA, GCLD, or GPCS; Microsoft SC-100, SC-500, AZ-305, AB-100, or AI-500; and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
