Senior Software Engineer Software engineering is changing fast. Writing code alone is no longer enough, as AI is taking over more of the execution. That is why we are not looking for someone who simply works through tickets. We need an engineer who understands complex problems, sees the full system and designs the right technical solution. As our Senior Software Engineer, you will work on the architecture behind NOVA. You will translate business and product challenges into simple, scalable and reliable software solutions. You understand what a system needs to do, which dependencies and risks come with it and how to use AI to build faster and smarter.

You will develop backend services, AI integrations, LLM systems and automated workflows that orchestrate large volumes of processes and data across multiple systems. You will look beyond today’s feature and build solutions that remain logical, maintainable and scalable tomorrow.

You recognize that building with AI requires a new engineering mindset. You don’t just implement LLM prompts; you build the validation systems required to ensure they are reliable, secure, and predictable. You will design the automated evaluation layers, guardrails, and testing frameworks necessary to catch hallucinations and regressions before they hit production. By bridging the gap between non-deterministic AI outputs and enterprise-grade backend stability, you will ensure that NOVA operates flawlessly at scale.

What You’ll Do

• Translate complex business and product challenges into clear technical solutions and scalable software architecture.
• Design, build and improve backend services and core functionality for the NOVA platform.
• Develop and orchestrate AI-native workflows, LLM integrations, API connections and automations.
• Make technical decisions around architecture, reliability, performance, latency, security and scalability.
• Look beyond the immediate assignment and identify dependencies, edge cases and future risks early.
• Use AI development tools such as Claude Code, Codex or similar tooling effectively in your daily engineering workflow.
• Evaluate whether AI-generated solutions are technically sound, secure, maintainable and production-ready.
• Further professionalize our approach to testing, observability, CI/CD and release quality.
• Work closely with Product, Engineering and Customer Success to turn ideas into working solutions quickly.
• Help other engineers grow through code reviews, technical discussions and shared engineering best practices.
• Take ownership of business-critical parts of the platform, from problem definition to implementation and optimization.
• Establish AI evaluation frameworks and LLM-as-a-judge pipelines to systematically measure accuracy, minimize hallucinations, and catch semantic drift.
• Design robust guardrails and fallback mechanisms to sanitize inputs, validate tool-calling execution, and ensure deterministic reliability within probabilistic AI workflows.

Who You Are

• You have 8+ years experience as a software engineer and have worked on complex, scalable software products or SaaS platforms.
• You think from the perspective of the problem, the product and the complete architecture, not just the code.
• You understand how systems, services, data, integrations and user needs influence one another.
• You have strong software engineering fundamentals, including system design, testing, CI/CD, maintainability and secure development.
• You make decisions independently while clearly explaining technical considerations and trade-offs.
• You thrive in a fast-growing scale-up where not everything has been defined yet and you help create the necessary structure.
• You communicate clearly, ask sharp questions and are confident in challenging existing decisions.
• You are willing to work from our office at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven for most of the week.

Experience with production LLM systems, AI agents, workflow automation, cloud architecture, MarTech, SEO technology or data-intensive platforms is a strong advantage.

We do not blindly focus on job titles or an exact number of years of experience. Your technical depth, architectural thinking, problem-solving ability and way of working determine whether you operate at senior level.

Salary Range

€90.000 - €129.000 annually incl. holiday allowance
