    By bringing together next-gen technology and the finest live data available, Genius Sports is enabling a new era of sports for fans worldwide, delivering experiences that are more immersive,  interactive  and personalised than ever before. Learn more at   geniussports.com     The Role – Senior Software Engineer (Fan Engagement)   We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to  join the Fan Engagement team and  lead the technical execution of projects and contribute to building  a backend that powers fan-facing content  and handles both live and postgame sports data . In this role,  you’ll  own system design decisions, drive delivery across multiple workstreams, and partner closely with product and design to shape solutions.  You’ll  play a key role in mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar across the team.   Key Responsibilities   Lead the design and delivery of complex features or systems with measurable impact    Own system architecture and make informed technical decisions that balance scalability, reliability, and maintainability    Drive execution across multiple sprints, ensuring  timely  and high-quality delivery   Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to influence scope, requirements, and user outcomes    Identify  technical risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies    Establish and promote best practices in code quality, testing, observability, and system reliability    Mentor and guide engineers through technical challenges, design discussions, and career growth    Lead and  facilitate  technical discussions, contributing to alignment across the team    Improve team processes, tooling, and development practices to increase effectiveness    Qualifications   Experience designing and delivering production systems in a professional or comparable environment    Strong  proficiency   with the Java Virtual Machine (JVM),  experience with Kotlin or Spring a  bonus   Experience owning system design and contributing to architectural decisions , with a strong understanding of   scalability, performance, and reliability principles    Proven ability to lead technical execution of projects from concept to delivery    Ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound technical decisions    Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver user-focused outcomes    Strong communication  skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts and trade-offs    Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to team development practices   Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English     Preferred Qualifications   Experience  working  with cloud systems, with experience  specifically with AWS or Kubernetes  being  a plus   Experience leading multi-sprint or cross-team initiatives    Familiarity with distributed systems and large-scale architectures      Exposure to defining or improving engineering standards, tooling, or processes    Experience influencing product direction through technical insight     We enjoy an ‘office-first’ culture and maximize opportunities to collaborate,  connect  and learn together.  This role is based in  Medellín  and is  required  to work from our office  on fixed days every week .        As well as a competitive salary and range of benefits,  we’re  committed to supporting employee wellbeing and helping you grow your skills,  experience  and career.
