Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Product Expansion Team based in Brazil. This role offers the opportunity to build and scale backend infrastructure powering critical financial and payment workflows for service-based businesses. You will join a product-focused engineering team responsible for expanding accounts payable capabilities and analytics products. The position combines backend engineering, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, data pipelines, and financial transaction processing. You will design reliable services and workflows that handle important business data while maintaining high standards for performance, quality, and observability. Working closely with Product and Operations, you will have significant ownership over features and technical solutions from development through production. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and global, with an emphasis on transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior engineer who wants to make a tangible impact on modern fintech infrastructure while working with a highly skilled team.
Build and maintain core backend services responsible for data processing, transformations, business logic, and critical financial workflows. Design and implement event-driven, queue-based workflows using technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ, ensuring processing is reliable and idempotent. Develop clean, maintainable services using Go or a comparable backend language and SQL with PostgreSQL or an equivalent database. Implement strong testing practices across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing to ensure product quality and system reliability. Establish and maintain metrics, monitoring, alerts, and other reliability practices covering throughput, latency, error rates, and overall system health. Investigate, diagnose, and resolve production issues quickly while contributing to continuous improvements in system reliability and performance. Collaborate closely with Product and Operations teams to translate business needs into high-quality features and deliver solutions efficiently. Pair with teammates, share technical knowledge, contribute to code reviews, and continuously improve engineering tools, processes, and development practices. Take ownership of technical initiatives and contribute to projects that improve payment operations, reduce complexity, and create meaningful customer impact. Requirements 4–7 years of professional software development experience, including responsibilities consistent with a senior engineering role. Strong professional experience with Go or a comparable backend programming language, together with strong SQL skills using PostgreSQL or an equivalent relational database. Previous experience working with payment platforms, financial transactions, fintech products, or similarly critical financial systems. Practical experience with event buses and message queues such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or comparable technologies. Strong testing discipline, including hands-on experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. Familiarity with Git-based development workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines. Strong understanding of distributed systems and the ability to design reliable, scalable backend services and event-driven architectures. Experience with data lake or analytics engineering technologies such as ClickHouse, dbt, Dagster, Spark/Databricks, Snowflake, or similar platforms is a plus. Experience developing or supporting analytics products, working with financial or data reconciliation, or integrating financial platforms such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, or NetSuite is desirable. Familiarity with accounting concepts such as double-entry accounting is an advantage. Experience with frontend development using TypeScript, observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, or basic security and compliance concepts such as encryption and audit trails is beneficial. Demonstrated ability to mentor teammates, lead technical projects, or drive engineering and organizational improvements is highly valued. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-impact environment with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Benefits Competitive salary tailored to experience, skills, and expertise. Total target compensation of $90,000–$105,000 , plus equity. Equity opportunities that allow employees to participate in the organization’s growth and success. Unlimited paid time off with flexibility when needed. Annual learning and development stipend to support professional growth. Fully remote position for candidates eligible to work in Brazil. Opportunity to lead meaningful, high-impact projects shaping the future of fintech and payment technology. Collaborative and diverse global working environment where employees are encouraged to contribute ideas and take ownership. Strong opportunities for career growth, technical development, knowledge sharing, and increased responsibility. Supportive culture focused on transparency, partnership, resourcefulness, bold thinking, and accountability.
