Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineering - Autonomy Build & Integration based in Canada. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help build and operate the engineering infrastructure that enables autonomous driving and advanced driver-assistance software to move safely from code to production. You will own critical CI/CD, build, integration, and release workflows supporting complex automotive software systems and high-quality software delivery. Working across teams, you will lead large-scale technical initiatives, improve engineering productivity, and develop scalable solutions that reduce manual effort. You will contribute to the reliability, performance, observability, and quality of the systems that underpin autonomous driving development. The role combines hands-on software engineering with technical leadership, mentoring, cross-functional collaboration, and engineering best practices. You will work in a fast-paced, globally collaborative environment where your technical decisions have direct impact on development velocity and product safety. This is an opportunity to contribute to self-driving technology while helping shape the tools and infrastructure used by engineers to solve some of mobility’s most complex challenges.

Design, build, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD processes and developer workflows for new and existing services, reducing manual and repetitive work. Own complex technical projects from design through implementation and operation, with a strong focus on quality, scalability, real-time processing, reliability, and availability. Lead large-scale initiatives that span multiple engineering teams, stakeholders, and technical partners. Develop and operate build, integration, validation, artifact management, and release workflows supporting autonomous driving and advanced driver-assistance systems. Improve pipeline reliability, performance, observability, and engineering efficiency through automation and standardized development practices. Participate actively in technical planning, architecture and design discussions, code reviews, and implementation activities. Contribute to strategic projects on the engineering roadmap and help establish reusable technical solutions and patterns. Drive software engineering best practices within the team and across the broader engineering organization. Create tooling and processes that encourage high-quality, consistent, and efficient engineering practices. Mentor and support other engineers, helping strengthen technical capabilities and engineering standards across the team. Conduct technical interviews using consistent evaluation standards and contribute to recruiting activities. Collaborate effectively across a fast-paced, distributed environment and contribute positively to team culture. Travel as required to support projects and collaboration. Requirements: 3+ years of experience leading and driving large-scale, cross-team technical initiatives. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Hands-on experience developing workflows and managing CI/CD platforms such as Buildkite, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions. Experience with developer tooling and technologies such as Python and Docker. Experience with build systems such as Bazel or CMake and compilers such as Clang, GCC, or NVCC. Demonstrated ability to lead projects involving multiple teams and stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and a continuous-improvement mindset focused on optimizing engineering processes and systems. Deep understanding of the operational and business implications of technology tradeoffs. Strong problem-solving, technical judgment, and project ownership skills. Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with engineers and stakeholders across teams. Strong interest in self-driving technology and its potential impact on transportation and society. 5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production systems at scale in cloud environments is preferred. Strong understanding of automotive systems such as Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), Motion Control, Automotive Networks, or Powertrain is an advantage. Experience with automotive communication protocols such as Ethernet, CAN, or LIN is desirable. Experience with SAFe and Agile methodologies is a plus. Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams is preferred. Experience with QNX OS and the QCC build toolchain is advantageous. Familiarity with Adaptive AUTOSAR service-based vehicle platforms is a plus. Experience with unit-testing tools such as CppUTest and GoogleTest, including their Jenkins plugins, is desirable. Benefits: Base salary range of CAD $115,000 to CAD $164,600, with actual compensation determined by factors relevant to the position. Fully remote position available to candidates anywhere in Canada, with the option to work from designated facilities as frequently as desired or required. Paid time off, including vacation days and holidays. Supplemental benefits supporting pregnancy, parental, and adoption leave. Healthcare, dental, and vision coverage. Health care spending account and wellness incentive. Life insurance coverage for employees and their families. Company and matching contributions to a Defined Contribution Pension plan. Vehicle purchase program for employees and their families. Opportunity to work on technology supporting autonomous driving and advanced mobility. Collaborative and inclusive engineering environment with opportunities for technical leadership, mentoring, and professional growth.
