This position will serve as the site subject matter expert for environmental programs and regulatory compliance, ensuring operations are conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local environmental requirements while supporting ASM's sustainability objectives.   The Environmental Engineer will own site environmental permits and compliance programs, including air emissions, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, and chemical management programs. The role requires strong collaboration with Facilities, Facilities Engineering, Operations, Construction, and EHS stakeholders to ensure environmental considerations are incorporated into facility design, expansion, commissioning, and operational activities.   This role is highly visible and will play a key part in establishing environmental systems and culture for a growing semiconductor facility.   Key Responsibilities   Environmental Permits & Regulatory Compliance   Own all site environmental permits, registrations, licenses, and approvals.   Manage permit applications, renewals, modifications, and regulatory agency correspondence.   Ensure ongoing compliance with permit conditions and regulatory requirements related to:   Air emissions   Wastewater discharge and pretreatment   Stormwater management   Hazardous waste   Hazardous materials management   Spill prevention and response programs   Maintain compliance calendars and ensure timely submission of required regulatory reports.   Conduct regulatory applicability reviews for facility changes, process modifications, new equipment, and expansion projects.   Support regulatory inspections, audits, information requests, corrective actions, and compliance verification activities.   Air, Water, and Waste Programs   Air Compliance   Manage air permit requirements, emissions inventories, emissions calculations, recordkeeping, and reporting.   Support evaluation of new tools, process equipment, abatement systems, and facility infrastructure for permitting impacts.   Coordinate required inspections, monitoring, and testing activities.   Water and Wastewater Compliance   Manage wastewater discharge permits and pretreatment requirements.   Coordinate wastewater sampling, data review, reporting, and corrective actions.   Partner with Facilities Engineering to ensure reliable operation of wastewater treatment and environmental control systems.   Support water conservation initiatives and responsible resource management.   Waste & Circularity   Lead site waste management and waste minimization programs.   Manage hazardous waste, universal waste, and non-hazardous waste compliance requirements.   Oversee waste vendors, manifests, waste profiles, storage areas, inspections, and recordkeeping.   Develop and implement recycling, reuse, and circularity initiatives that improve waste diversion and support ASM sustainability goals.   Establish metrics and reporting for waste reduction and circular economy performance.   Environmental Management Systems & Sustainability   Maintain and continuously improve site environmental management systems consistent with ISO 14001 principles.   Develop environmental procedures, work instructions, compliance tools, and training programs.   Compile environmental data and support ESG, sustainability, and corporate reporting requirements.   Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impacts associated with energy, water, waste, and emissions.   Support implementation of ASM sustainability objectives and site-level environmental improvement projects.   Facilities & Engineering Partnership   Serve as the primary environmental partner to Facilities and Facilities Engineering teams.   Collaborate with Facilities Engineers on environmental infrastructure projects, including:   Air pollution control systems   Wastewater treatment systems   Chemical delivery systems   Waste handling infrastructure   Utility and facility expansion projects   Participate in design reviews, commissioning activities, management of change reviews, and capital projects.   Ensure environmental requirements are integrated into facility modifications and operational changes.   Provide technical guidance during construction, startup, and commissioning activities.   Risk Management, Audits & Continuous Improvement   Conduct environmental compliance inspections, audits, and field assessments.   Lead environmental incident investigations and root cause analyses.   Develop corrective and preventive action plans and drive timely closure.   Monitor regulatory developments and communicate emerging requirements to stakeholders.   Benchmark best practices and implement programs that improve environmental performance and operational efficiency.   Training & Stakeholder Engagement   Develop and deliver environmental awareness and compliance training for employees and contractors.   Build strong partnerships with Operations, Facilities, Facilities Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Real Estate, Corporate Sustainability, and EHS teams.   Foster a culture of environmental stewardship, accountability, and continuous improvement across the Scottsdale site.   Education & Experience   Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or related technical discipline.   5+ years of experience managing environmental compliance programs in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, technology, chemical, pharmaceutical, or similar industries.   Experience managing environmental permits and compliance programs related to:   Air emissions   Wastewater   Hazardous waste   Stormwater   Chemical management   Working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.   Experience working with regulatory agencies, environmental reporting, and compliance audits.   Strong project management and organizational skills.   Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholder groups.   Preferred Qualifications   Experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing, R&D laboratories, or high-technology facilities.   Experience with Arizona environmental permitting and regulatory requirements.   Familiarity with wastewater treatment systems, air abatement systems, and environmental control infrastructure.   Experience implementing recycling, waste reduction, and circular economy initiatives.   Working knowledge of ISO 14001 environmental management systems.   Professional credentials such as:   Professional Engineer (PE)   Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)   Certified Environmental Professional (CEP)   Environmental engineering-related certifications   Success Measures   In this role, success will be measured by:   Maintaining 100% environmental permit compliance.   Establishing effective environmental programs for the Scottsdale site startup and expansion.   Building strong partnerships with Facilities and Engineering stakeholders.   Reducing waste generation and increasing recycling/circularity performance.   Ensuring timely and accurate environmental reporting and regulatory submissions.   Driving continuous
