Job Description – Linux L3 System Administrator Job Summary The Linux L3 System Administrator is responsible for advanced architecture, administration, troubleshooting, and optimization of large-scale Linux environments. This role provides technical leadership, handles complex incidents and escalations, drives automation and standardization, and ensures platform stability, security, and performance across on‑premise and cloud infrastructures. Key Responsibilities Provide L3-level support for Linux OS (RHEL, Oracle Linux, CentOS, Rocky Linux) Act as final technical escalation point for complex OS, performance, and availability issues Lead major incident troubleshooting, perform deep-dive analysis, and deliver Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Design, build, and maintain highly available and scalable Linux platforms Own OS builds, upgrades, kernel updates, and lifecycle management Architect and support LVM, multipathing (DM‑Multipath, PowerPath), and enterprise storage integrations Implement and maintain automation using Ansible, shell scripting, Python Provide advanced support for VMware and physical server infrastructures Drive security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and audit compliance Support cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) – OS provisioning, optimization, and troubleshooting Collaborate with application, database, network, and security teams on solution design Mentor L1/L2 engineers and review SOPs, standards, and best practices Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations and planned maintenance activities Required Skills & Experience 8–10+ years of enterprise Linux system administration experience Deep expertise in RHEL/Oracle Linux Strong experience with: LVM, multipathing, SAN/NAS storage System performance tuning and analysis Advanced troubleshooting in production Hands-on experience with Ansible automation Strong shell scripting skills (Bash); Python desirable Experience with ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM tools Strong understanding of networking concepts (bonding, VLANs, routing basics) Experience supporting 24x7 mission‑critical environments Preferred Qualifications RHCE / RHCA or equivalent certifications Experience with container platforms (Docker/Kubernetes) – OS perspective Exposure to cloud-native Linux deployments Experience in ITIL-aligned operations Professional Attributes Strong ownership mindset and decision‑making capabilities Ability to handle high‑pressure, business‑critical incidents Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Passion for automation, standardization, and continuous improvement "We are an equal opportunity employer.
